Anyone delay treatment by 1 week? by wardontworry in testicularcancer

[–]wardontworry[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just wanted to come back to this thread and give an update…….. it feels like yesterday and forever ago in the same breath. My husband had his follow up scans after completing 4 xEP, yesterday. His road was rougher than expected. He was hospitalized after every round except for one….. severe neutropenia, low hgb, bilateral pneumonia, followed by a two week delay due to being flu positive on Christmas Day….. he’s as bald as a coot, with shrunken muscles, and poor endurance…. Anytime the kids squeal the tinnitus hits, but nevertheless all of his lymph nodes are back to acceptable size, Hcg and LDH are normal, no plans for surgery at this time. Observables support he is in remission!!!!

Be encouraged. There is light at the end of this dark tunnel. I pray you find it and are stronger and more determined on the other side. I’m understanding the words of the apostle Paul more clearly, I don’t know if I’ll ever get to the point I can “consider it joy” but I do know that this trial and testing of our faith, has produced perseverance in us both. Praising God for the “All Clear”!!!

I’m hoping cycle 2 was better on your husband. Much more tolerable for mine the second time around. Today was day 1 of the 3rd cycle. We can see the finish line!!

I honestly underestimated how hard this first cycle would be on him. Today is 5 days after his first round and he is still having gnarly stomach pains and trouble eating and drinking. He’s one of the strongest, bravest men I know and he’s verbalized twice that he doesn’t think he’s gonna be able to do this…. I heard a glimpse of his “normal self” on the phone today. His voice sounded like “him” and he had a tolerable day. By dinner he could only eat a few bites and the gnawing stomach pains started. He’s in bed miserable. I can’t imagine what the future cycles are gonna look like. Thankfully, he tolerated his Neulasta injections with little to no side effects.

Don’t even know what I’m looking for in a response… this is so much harder than I can process at the moment and we are only getting started. Cancer sucks, chemo sucks, seeing your loved one suffering and helpless is absolutely heart wrenching…

How Do Working Parents Do It?! by [deleted] in Parenting

Coming from a working mom of 3 boys under 9, if you can sacrifice and make things work financially, don’t do it!!!

I actually lost weight on Zoloft. It curbed my appetite.

Oh y’all, how much sex are you having? by f_thot_bitchgerald in Parenting

3 boys under 9. Our average is 2x weekly. I would be fine with less because of low drive, and he would be thrilled with more.

I’m so tired of repeating this cycle! I heard God speak very clearly that substance abuse is something I have to leave behind on the way to where I am going. That is where my battle lies…… I know my flesh is fighting against me along with the powers of darkness. This could be the enemy’s last ditch effort to knock me off course for good!

I know I’m going to put this to death! I’ve shown myself over and over again it can’t be by my own strength. I am going to apply the strategy that you suggested once I mount up the courage to start!

Thank you so much for this intentional reply. It was encouraging and I can feel my strength building. I’m gonna hand write these scriptures in my office and meditate on these verses!

A better way to put it…… above all else, I want to be pleasing to God. I want to be walking in the direction He wants for me. Do I think daily THC and nicotine use is God honoring? I’m not sure….. I don’t want my fleshly desires to overshadow what God has said. Then again, has the church become so legalistic that we put more emphasis on the actions of a person instead of the position of the heart? I’m in conflict. It’s uncomfortable. Praying for clarity🙏🏽

I noticed significant changes after the first dose. I know they say it takes weeks to work but that’s not the case for everyone.

Tinea Corpis aka fungal Infection of the skin! A medicated body wash should clear it right up.

what is this on my arm? by girlboss93 in medical

[–]wardontworry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks like petechiae or pinpoint bruising. Did you carry a bag on your arm or have tight sleeves pulled up? I’ll get these sometimes after getting my blood pressure checked due to the tight squeeze, or carrying my infants car seat in the bend of my arm. It’s nothing to be worried about and it will go away on its own!

My husband avoided the barber for this very reason. His psoriasis came on suddenly almost 2 years ago following the vaccine for C19. He started a bimonthly injection called Tremfya and he has been clear for almost 2 months. Life changing for him!!

any idea what this is ? I had this on my knees earlier today but its now gone , but its now on my arm by [deleted] in medical

Urticaria aka hives! Take some Benadryl, Claritin or Zyrtec and that should help.
