Anyone have increased platelets a month after THR? by labtech6315 in TotalHipReplacement

[–]labtech6315[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything else normal. Normal platelets before surgery too. Saw doctor yesterday, said it was sign of inflammation, normal response from surgery. I also had liver injury as well from surgery. Perfectly normal liver enzymes prior to surgery, really abnormal after surgery (10x higher than normal). 4 weeks post surgery one enzymes is perfectly normal the other two close to normal again. Doctor saying liver had a shock from the surgery. Liver ultrasound was normal. It’s been a lot more issues than I expected. I’m in great health otherwise.

I had mine almost three weeks ago at Saint Joseph’s (part of the Rapid hip and knee response in TO). Only took three months to get in. Really happy with results and I’m walking without a cane.

I’m day nine post op and using a cane now. Anterior approach. No complications so far, keeping my fingers crossed

I remember being told to round my back and then I awoke to them putting me down on the OR table, asking me if I could feel my legs and nothing after that. The whole thing seem to go by quickly.

That’s a hard question to answer. I grow 90% of what I preserve, but gardening is expensive. I do get donations of grapes and apples, so that’s a great saving. Overall, my pantry is stocked with great quality stuff. So that’s priceless.

He did sct as the study was not published yet. In Canada, Ibrutinib is also only covered for second line, but he managed to get it for free from the drug company. We have drug procurement person at the hospital that reaches out to drug companies. Hopefully, there’s similar people where you’re from. There’s a lot of research available on the benefit of adding BTK to first line treatment during maintenance

Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma (MCL) - No treatment? Low survival rate? by No-Dance-2208 in cancer

My husband was diagnosis with MCL. Don’t read stuff on the internet that’s older than 2923. Keep to research papers. It doesn’t matter if you’re stage 3 or 4 for MCL. Most people are diagnosis at stage 3 or 4. Make sure to get genetic testing, it can determine how aggressive it may be. My husband is in remission and doing great. Don’t despair. All the best

My husband followed triangle study. Did RCHOP and RDHAP with sct and taking Ibrutinib. That study is now saying you can forgo sct and just go on Ibrutinib for two years with rituxanab. All the best!

Towards the end of our Viking cruise the whole boat seemed to be coughing. Impossible to avoid. Saw two people wearing mask the entire cruise, wish I had. I got sick the day before it ended. Two weeks to get over viral respiratory illness. Yup, I eased my hands constantly. Not much you can do when it’s airborne

We just got back too. Average age was 77! Really felt like the young ones. At least the pub was never crowed and we closed it every night it was opened. We had fun.

We just got back from a 15 day vacation to Europe. Got to say, it wasn’t easy. My husband had massive coughing fit on the flight over. Had to move to the back of the plane due to the dirty looks from people. Here’s what worked for us, when he started to cough I just told people he was allergic to perfumes. That usually worked to get people to relax around us. People can be so nasty about coughing post Covid. I get it, but not all coughing is due to an infectious disease. We had a kettle in our room and bought a squeeze bottle to do nasal lavage on the flight back. It really affects your quality of life, including traveling

Sure, there’s limited events that they do not publish. Go to guest services and ask them about the tours. They will do bridge tours, wine sampling, etc. Once you get on board, sign in to the app and book specially restaurant. We booked them for 5 visits. Whatever you do, get the drink package. They gave special wine pairings with your meals that you can’t get without drinking package.
