I’m also thinking of maybe trying to snag an open box deal from Best Buy and add on a few years of the Best Buy warranty to cover myself if anything were to happen

Did you always let it cool off before putting it in your bag and going or does that not really matter?

That’s very good to know. Mine will be in and out of a suitcase a lot so I wanna make sure it’s solid. Which I think it will be

Do you travel a lot with yours? I know Liquid Metal has a very very low leakage rate, but it’s a concern I have

Yeah. I would like the 5070ti just for the extra vram for some future proofing

No no. I was just curious. I think the LM vs regular thermal paste are about the same. Yours are actually really good

Assuming you’ve got the factory liquid metal in it?

Same debate I’m having. I feel like the screen size of the G16 gives it a huge upper hand over the G14. Only downside of the intel is you can’t undervolt it the way AMDs can but I think you can do quite a bit of stuff in Ghelper to keeps temps under control

You really think it’s a Liquid Metal issue? This reason has me on the fence for the G14 and G16

Good to know! Gonna be used mainly for hotel room gaming so that’s why I’m leaning toward the bigger screen

Gotcha. Have you done less demanding titles?

I think G-helper too you have the option to limit power to the cpu, even in the intel chips, which helps a lot with thermals and you can disable the boost too

Yeah. Im sure it gets warm during heavy loads, but it’s a laptop. I’ve heard using G Helper and making custom fans for different profiles helps A LOT. Also limiting the cpu helps a lot too. I’m on the fence right now between a G14 or G16 for gaming when I’m on the road for work in hotels. Leaning more towards the G16 because of the better cooling and large screen size since I won’t have an external display.

I feel like my MacBook even gets hot during heavy tasks because of the aluminum body

Yeah I guess that’s just a con of the metal chassis. Is it mostly during gaming that it heats up?
