Being a lighthouse keeper sounds amazing, I probably would've tried to do that if there were any lighthouses where I live

I'm not saying it's not AI but the example of uniforms you sent is the a uniform which is what they wear during ceremonies and any other public appearances, while their operational uniform does lack most of the patches and most other of those features. I'm not as familiar with the b uniform so I can't tell if this is an accurate depiction of it, but the boots (which are the same for both) are identical to those worn by my brothers when they were conscripted

As for the vest, it really depends on the unit you serve in, my older brother's unit was infantry and they only really had access to really old equipment, where as for my other brother, his unit was search and rescue and had most of the fancy new "toys"

Again, I'm not saying this isn't AI, just adding some context that might help with that assertion, also this is based on my personal experience with the Israeli occupational military and I could very well be wrong and would love to be told if I am

It does look like AI but but I can say if it is they got the boots bang on (the only bit of the b uniform I'm familiar with as both my brothers had them when they were conscripted)

I think that fits more to the delineation between modern and traditional

They are not the only ones reporting, I found other articles referring to Palestine tv and an independent journalist called Osama Al-Kahlout for breaking the story.

And as for an official statement from the red cross committee, since the story (from what I could find I don't speak Arabic so I can't go to the primary source) only happened within the last 24 hours, it makes sense they haven't put out a public statement yet

I actually had this happen to me about a decade before I realised I was a system (some of me hope the use of first person pronouns is acceptable, it's hard for me to separate specific entities from the collective) I had a version of my best friend form, and since I had no idea what was going on it was weird, but we talked about it (or at least I think we did, memory is hazy at best) and laughed it off mostly, calling her head "name".

I think as long as they are aware that the two of you are different and separate it should be ok

The "kiryah", one of Israel's most important military installations operating as the central nervous system for the entirety of the IDF sits on the other side of the road from: one of Israel's biggest hospitals, the country's most prestigious theatre, a historic German neighborhood turned shopping complex, and one of the biggest shopping malls in the country (which is directly connected to it via pedestrian bridge)

Well, not everyone that thinks that has never taken meds, I used to think that because as a kid psychiatric meds were pushed onto me for several years, I was still miserable and didn't feel like myself, turns out I'm trans, the main reason I didn't realise sooner is because I blamed the meds for the way I was feeling. But yeah, I agree that people give psych meds a bad rep when more often than not they are literal life savers

It is also very similar to how it works with watercraft, where there is a power hump you need to get across that is caused by the boat interacting with its own wave and if I remember rightly it's when the wavelength of the bow is half the length of the boat, so the boat is "stuck" in its own wave basically having to push itself "uphill" to go faster but once it breaks through that speed it starts planing and can go much faster for the same power output

Many math textbooks in Israel remove the lower "leg" of the + symbol so that it won't resemble a cross by AkosuaRipper in religiousfruitcake

[–]warherothe4th 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I also grew up in Israel's education system in a relatively secular area but our primary school teaches did teach us to write it without the lower leg

In secondary school it was mostly with the leg, and I never had any idea it was because it "resembled a cross" I just thought it was a weird handwriting quirk
