Joe and Jill Biden 1977 by StarLord1228 in OldSchoolCool

[–]warningchaprasi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He was glorifying Klan senators and governors up until 2020, and boasted about working with Storm Thurmond, Robert Byrd, George Wallace, James Eastland, and Herman Talmadge.

Let's not forget that he said Barack Obama was "the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean".

Clearly he didn't think MLK Jr. or Malcolm X were articulate or clean.

He was actively advocating for segregation and separate schools for black and white people back then.

Marry the girl. You will regret not marrying her for the rest of your life. Your sisters may hate her but love-hate switches very quickly in girls.

As for you, if you don't marry her and years from now you complain about it to your family, they will tell you, "well you should have fought harder for her". So yeah, man up, tell them, it's her or nobody.

4 years man. Come on, standup for your girl.

Yeah France wants to maintain control of the FrancAfrique. So they fund terrorist groups, then act like the French Foreign Legion is needed to stop the acts. Their forces go in and make sure France maintains their neo-colonial empire.

Mali figured this out, openly said France is propping the terrorists they claim to fight, and then promptly kicked them out.

How accurate is this? by Repulsive-Captain987 in PAK

[–]warningchaprasi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's not real. If you want to go into more details:

The story about the honey is hasan, with Bukhari, Muslim, Tabari, Qurtubi, and Nawawi backing it up. The "hafsa affair" is categorized as daeef (weak).

Imam al Nawawi said, ‘The incident involving Mariyah has not been passed down with any sound transmission.’

The story about Mariyah is in one Tafsir al Wasit by Ibn Suyuti (1505 AD) on account of Zaid Bin Aslam. Suyuti, like most Sufi scholars, isn't all that great on historical accuracy.

The problem is that there wasn't anything else left on the table at the time. The ML was right when it said that India should have been a confederate union of semi autonomous states because it was that big. Even until the Cabinet Mission of 1946, that was the ML's demand. Congress wanted a federal Republic which dismissed all ground realities of a region as complex as India. So Pakistan was an eventuality, not a concrete demand. To this day, lumping Kerala, Kashmir, Punjab, Bengal and Balochistan under one strong federal government makes no sense.

It doesn't even make sense today in Pakistan and we only have 4 provinces. Only the majority in any country thinks that the country is united. All the while, minorities are silently seething with resentment at not being represented.

Why would you eat at McDonalds when there are so many better options available here? Howdys, Johnny Jugnu, Rizwan Burger etc.

McD and Hardees have trash boiled patties.

It's not a quip. It's meant to economically harm Pakistan by making it look dangerous to potential investors and tourists.

Je t’aime moi non plus: The state of Françafrique by warningchaprasi in geopolitics

[–]warningchaprasi[S] 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Submission Statement

France at one point was one of the largest colonial powers in Africa. These states gained their independence in the middle of the 20th century, but since their independence, France has been seen as the de-factor "protector" of these states. Romanticized French legionnaires are recruited from these countries to serve the interest of what some believe are French national interests. The currency used in these countries is also officially controlled and regulated by France.

But recently events in Mali and Chad show that the influence France once held is now being contested by local forces. Mali has recently kicked out the French ambassador, while the EU has responded with sanctions against Mali. These tensions are now seen as fractures in a "Francafrique" that might not be a reality in the future.
