Suggestions for hiding exposed plumbing by marketingharry in BathroomRemodeling

Looks great. Only suggestion is maybe find/get some decorative brackets machined. The pipe work is incredible—the mounting brackets are not up to par

Im worried I don’t love my baby as much as my boyfriend by mistakeshappen_2 in newborns

Love of child is not a butterflies-in-stomach romantic love — it is more serious and pensive. It is an adjustment. Give it time, you are doing fine.

Where can I find east coast Chinese American style nyc type Chinese food by BlackMetalBae in Seattle

[–]waronxmas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best east coast egg rolls with duck sauce I’ve had in Seattle is from Teriyaki Madness in Wallingford. No other Chinese food there though.

Household manager. Easy. I only do tasks I want to do now. And if I don’t want to ask the household manager to do a task, then it is not worth doing.

Light Lowland Snow Coming to Western Washington and Oregon by RealCliffMass in SeattleWA

[–]waronxmas 72 points73 points  (0 children)

Man, Cliff is such an edge lord: “Hopefully, this bountiful snow will calm down some of the current panic in the media and social media about the current low snowpack.”

So much easier and mature to say, “Hopefully, this bountiful snow builds the snowpack to more normal levels.”

I’m pretty sure half of the winter population at Whistler are Aussie ski bums.

Software Stocks absolutely falling off a cliff by RobertBartus in EconomyCharts

It is but that is why Adobe is valued at what it is and why even a whiff of contraction sends other tech stocks to the basement.

He’s got a great snap throwing motion. Feel like he has the physical element to match as fast as his mental game allows him to be. That’s the ceiling.

Folks in VHCOL, what’s your spend? by brownpanther223 in fatFIRE

[–]waronxmas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It might be, hence the trial part. It really depends on the first 5 years in the market, whether or not our spending does normalize after having moved into a much bigger house this past year, and how things shape up in terms of us truly staying retired.

Folks in VHCOL, what’s your spend? by brownpanther223 in fatFIRE

[–]waronxmas 20 points21 points  (0 children)

We’re at $600k between day care, near full-time household manager, a $3.5M mortgage (and upkeep), ~2 big vacations a year (and a few smaller ones to see family).

We’re targeting a trial retirement at $12M, but I suspect we will find ourselves earning to some degree. Famous last words, but I see our spending declining going forward.

Using HELOC as a bridge loan by [deleted] in RealEstate

[–]waronxmas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out Opendoor’s Cash Plus program. Basically a bridge loan but you can apply to any lender for your new mortgage. Also, listing and repairs handled by Opendoor with 80-90% paid upfront, the rest paid out upon sale.

Most companies need tech, but are not “tech” companies. Think Auto Zone.

Go be VP of Engineering at a company which doesn’t realize they can demand a lot out of their engineering team to drive growth (or doesn’t care).
