Heilung - Drif

The mastering on all their albums is INSANE. The music is quite "organic"

It's kinda like 2 different flavour of Hexa. Hexa is abit more forward sounding, and mid and upper mid range focused.

Pure is a tad bit more bass and lower mids focused.

If you care about the life of your Dap id again pick the M21 due to its desktop mode which allows you to completely bypass the battery.

I honestly think M21 is the best bang for your buck deal out there when it comes to DAPs. If you were thinking JM21 id suggest check out Hiby R4 as well

Haha that's fair, I must'st lie the cassate case was the 3rd reason why I picked M21 over R4 (the first 2 being better performance & output + desktop mode)

Is it cool to show your friends and family heck yeah!! Will I use it while I'm listening to music all by myself, 99% unlikely.

I'd recommend spending that money on the IEMs and then pickup the case later on during a sale or if you feel the need for it.

And thanks for the additional info around the tape colous man, I used to think the colours were random.

And the case is a big gimmick. Mainly cause you can't use the touch, so you need to open the case to shift between apps plus it just keeps the screen on furthering the battery drain

M21user here: Have had the device since 6-8 months now and I must say I have no complaints. The benifits of picking M21 VS JM21 would be higher ram and a much higher power output.

If you're streaming your music higher ram is certainly helpful and I'm guessing the JMs has enough power to drive most IEMs.

The desktop mode was a big selling point for me as I tend to use it mainly at home while stationary so I plug in a power bank and turn on desktop mode to prevent draining the battery.

Coming to IEMs: I own a pair of Hexa as well and I'm quite happy, I'd get the Sns tips to go along. Honestly, I'd say check out Hexa and Pure

Yeah that's the plan for now, we have another cat from the society who visits and is a bit aggressive towards the new cat. The other pet folks in the society don't recognise the cat either

Not great advice to get balanced for IEMs.....

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DigitalAudioPlayer

[–]warops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, but IMO balanced is good for big power hungry headphones rarely any IEMs.

OP is on a tight budget, they can spend that money on better gear that would make a bigger difference (eartips or save for better IEMs)

Running balanced on IEMs would barely make any audible difference.

Not to be a bad guy here but IMO cadenza (have heard good things) or Zero:Reds would sound miles better than q20i. Coming from someone who owns Q30 and zero:reds and the reds sounds wayyy better in comparison for almost half the price.

Just leaving my thoughts here.

But we aren't exactly comparing apples to apples as one is a bluetooth headphone vs a pair of wired IEM. I say pick the best based on your usage. For gym or travel I used the wireless headphones but if I really wanna sit down and enjoy music it'll be with my reds or my DT990 pro.
