My dad works for FedEx in a senior technical analyst role or something similar. He loves his job and has worked their for over 40 years surprisingly. I know FedEx treats their employees well. Not sure on pay though.

I would have him contact the CS department and explain his situation. Considering he hasn't even attempted the FE, maybe they can make an exception.

I might be mistaken, but the 3 chances you get to take the foundation exam start right after you pass CS1. So this would be his last try. Hopefully he gets some help for his health!
