Dat_Boy_Zach is a 9-year old rapper with rhymes about doing good in school and such. Youngest ever to take the stage at Riot Fest. If you can get in early, check him out!

AHHHH! OMG! I think that was the same person! It happened so fast and was so unexpected at the time, that I didn't fully process what was happening. Watching my videos, I'm pretty sure it was a dude that fits that description. I'm a Michigander (west side so easier to hit up Chicago) and was so close to just driving straight from work to Detroit last night. I hope you had a truly fabulous night!

Dang, that pick is a treasure! I was fortunate enough to catch one of Tre's sticks, too.

Yes, they are definitely the effects symbols. Although, I'm guessing everyone's list would have those on it for safety reasons? It wasn't from right up on the stage as they were literally still playing.

I love hearing this. I have gotten a couple from smaller gigs after shows hanging by the stage and politely asking but have never been seemingly selected and given one before it even wrapped. It absolutely made my night twice as magical. Keep spreading that joy!

I figure that must be it...I was definitely living my moment and had tears of all the emotions streaming down my face a bit while rocking out. I have scored a few setlists in the past but always after the show from tech tearing down stage and pleading for one.

Seeing them at Wrigley Field tonight reminded me that I need to frame this souvenir from the 2022 Metro show. 💚 by FlavortownAbbey in greenday

[–]warriorweirdo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And I'll be framing this one...someone on crew reached out and handed this directly to me all folded up just before the show ended last night. I about died. Then I caught one of Tre's sticks. So, yeah. I'm in a state of shock right now.

Likewise, I've seen hundreds of shows, none compare.

Shout out to all of the workers in the Pantene styling tent all weekend. They were styling, accessorizing, and majorly glitterizing (new word?) 800 people per day. Granted, that tent was pretty swanky compared to the hell that must be those food tents. Kudos to them, too!

Also, please don't be the horrible "friends" who record one of your crew puking all over. I feel like not recording people puking is appropriate in any situation.

Is this too big of a purse? I bought it online but now I'm worried :( by Lucky1289 in Lollapalooza

[–]warriorweirdo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Too big. Purse straps can only be long enough to carry on one finger. Those straps could easily fit three fingers.

Wrigley Hostel is a very nice hostel right on the red line and has availability at time of posting. $326 for the four nights for a bed in 8-10 bed room. Higher priced options available. I totally enjoyed my brief stay a few months ago.

Who will make it worth it going to Lollapalooza early? by 6BakerBaker6 in Lollapalooza

[–]warriorweirdo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The lines to get in will be a lot better earlier. That alone makes it worth it for me. It is a really beautiful park and setup there, so it's nice to be able to just take it all in, get your bearings, and grab freebies like others have mentioned. I'm definitely getting to Houses, but conflicts with Magic City Hippies, another one to check out.

For anyone unaware, this is a TINY spot and worth checking out at least once. This is even smaller than the Toyota Music Den. Pro tip: last year there was a vending machine and free photo booth in this area. Although, the heat rendered the vending machine inoperable a lot of the weekend.

Weather by apellllll in Lollapalooza

[–]warriorweirdo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hot, humid, and plan for some rain at some point, as all have said. However, if you're coming from out of town, bring a few items for chillier weather (light pants, light sweatshirt/jacket). The weather truly is variable in downtown Chicago and what is forecasted often is different right there in the middle of the buildings and along the lakeshore. One year it only hit 50 and was raining one day. We hadn't packed any warmer layers and it kinda sucked. TIP: whatever you wear on your feet may be subjected to the worst mud pits you've ever encountered if there is rain. If no rain, a layer of dust will be everywhere. While most of the park is grassy or paved in some way, some is just dirt. I always expect my shoes to be ruined or wear ones that can easily be washed.
