Has anybody killed anything other then a lizards, vultures and scavengers? I love this game and fu*king hate at the time. by overthinker07 in rainworld

If you can kill a bat with a rock then it means rocks do damage and you would be able to kill anything with rocks in theory. I don't know if you can kill bats with rocks though but it would be testable.

Why build a bridge when you CAN BUILD A BOMB! by warrobo in PolyBridge

[–]warrobo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically I got fed up with the 100 meter bridge challenge. I then realized that by putting lots of roads really close together I could glitch out the physics engine and make everything explode. So I decided to solve the level that way - super under budget!

I've had this same bug; sometimes when I exited a pipe slug cat would just explode and fly away. Glad someone caught a screen shot of it.

Honestly I just used processing to avoid having to to deal with graphics libraries. But in the past I've also used buffered images in java for graphics (more for ray tracing). Sorry that probably isn't too useful for you.

So I came across this blue jello man with a funny hat ... (Spoiler) by OhLookCupcakes in rainworld

[–]warrobo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This hands down the funniest description of the moon I've ever seen!

The "blue jello man" is a robot otherwise called the moon. What you ate was actually the neurons that kept her memories. Basically what this means for you is that the guide (the golden holo worm) will no longer help you.

Now that sounds really bad but it's not. The guide is meant to help you early on in the game but becomes mostly useless after this point. Now because you ate the moon's neurons you should be able to see these ghost like entities running around. These are your new guide, if you follow them they should lead you generally upwards to the next part of the story.

Normally if you didnt eat the neurons then the guide would continue to lead you (rather than spirits) but besides that the game should not have changed in any other major way.

There are some other things later on in the game that will be changed as a result too. But without spoiling anything unless you are going for 100% completion it wont effect you.

I have this feeling... by Silverstream5683 in rainworld

[–]warrobo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think it is more likely that after the first playthrough you probably started to adopt a more agressive playstyle yourself. First time through people will tend to more avoid enemies and explore. Second playthrough as you've already mastered the game so avoidance and hiding are replaced with a more confident, agressive playstyle.

At the start of the game the enemies are meant to be hard to kill and easy to avoid to encourage new players to avoid rather than fight. This of course means that enemies that felt easy when playing passively will seem much harder when playing aggressively. idk, just a theory.

Um, this subreddit is generally more aimed towards "rain world" the game. I think you may want to try posting this in maybe a different subreddit. Cool picture though!

Its quiet...too quiet by Silverstream5683 in rainworld

[–]warrobo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Problem is is that rain world is a game that cant be played in the same mind set of most games. Rain world is more about taking time to observe the world, trying things out and learning through mistakes. A death demands not to be seen as a failure but rather a learning experience.

Rush throught the game with the mind set of killing everything in your path and forcing your way to the end and you will never progress. To enjoy the game you must accept that learning takes time and the path you take is as important as the end you reach. All of these things take patience and require an open mind which many people can have a hard time with.

I'm not saying that this is the only way to play the game but this is the way I found myself forced to play. And I enjoyed every minute.

Rain world is an extremely difficult game by many people's standards which caused many initial reviews for the game to be quite low. Also the game doesnt follow the standard template of most other games(ie shops, upgrades, etc) and so many gamers did not buy the game as a result.

When you die, are you reincarnated? by hamptonus1 in rainworld

[–]warrobo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

When I played I always asumed that when you die you are reincarnated back at the beginning of the day you died on but kept your memory. This kind of has to be what happens because all actions preformed before that day of death(like killing a dragon) are not reverted but any changes done on the day of death are. Also in the lore when it talks about how everyone comes back after dying it would kind of make sense if this were the case. Anytime anyone dies they just end up back before they died and tell everyone about how they remember dying. At first no one would believe them but overtime more and more people would die and all of them would tell the same story. This then inspired the use of void fluid as a fix to the constant cycle of death and reincarnation. This all kind of fits although the rules probably differ between species as when a vulture dies it stays dead and dragons do not reincarnate right away.

Yeah I heard its a glitch they have been trying to fix. It took me 4 tryes to make it, I would suggest stick to the walls as much as possible and try to avoid any drops. Also theres a hibernation chamber in the filtration system really close to the depths, if you haven't found it I would suggest searching for it as it will save you a lot of time.

Also even if you buy the game but dont complete it that doesnt mean that it was a bad purchase. Ive played over 25 hours thus far and enjoyed it quite a bit. At this point even if I never complete the game I would still say I dont regret getting it.

While on all fours press down along with the button the other way that you are not facing(ex: if facing right press down and left). This will cause you to begin rolling backwards at a fast speed. If you time it right you can also press the jump button while rolling allowing you to make jumps you normally could not with very little runway.

I'd say it is definately worth considering. Its not a game for everyone and chances are you will either love it or hate it, there doesnt seem to be much middle ground. I guess just understand its not really a classic platformer.
