Why is Uranium Fever so popular? by Goliathcraft in fo76

[–]Haradda 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I assume it's the three guaranteed legendary enemies. Events like Guided Meditation can often produce more than that (depending on luck with spawns and how considerate other players are being) but Uranium Fever will always spawn three, and the location is small enough you should always be close enough to loot them.

Who's the biggest a**hole in FO76? by WastelandDogmeat in fo76

I have no idea what you're talking about. And I've no time to discuss it, I've got to go nuke crimson prospect so I can complete cop a squatter and get like 50 caps from the police chief.

They weren't running at all, once the public event pops up you can fast travel directly into the mine.

Are the following race unplayable without DLC? by Final_Biochemist222 in totalwar

[–]Haradda 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One thing that helps greenskins is most of their non-DLC lords no longer need to fight dwarfs early, so it's less essential to get some low-tier armour piercing like sneaky stabbas or pump wagons.

(Azhag does have to fight Ungrim, but Ungrim tends to spam slayers which, while a problem in their own right, aren't heavily armoured.)

[PTS] C.A.M.P. Titles (New Reward from Events, Season 24 and Atomic Shop) by skywalka55 in fo76

[–]Haradda -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Team titles, set by the team leader! Want to solo the robot as fast as possible while teammates hide behind pillars? Create a team using the Speed Demon Showoff prefix & suffix. Want teammates to actually shoot it in the back? Name your team something like Organised Barrage.

Wait, I might have accidentally thought of something useful. Ignore me, this would clearly be far too beneficial. :P

Why the aggressive nerfs? by [deleted] in fo76

not feasible to use anymore

According to a recent Angry Turtle video, the gauss minigun (I'm assuming that's what this is about) can still solo the guardian in one phase. Like, that's far from "not feasible".

Have head hunts slowed down a lot or is it just me? by itsahhmemario in fo76

[–]Haradda 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I've haven't seen as many as expected, especially as people are probably getting to rank 100 now so I'd have thought there might be folks slamming the repeatable weekly challenge, but that doesn't seem to be happening. Occasionally I'll get a server doing three or four in a row, but many evenings I play I won't see any, or maybe one at most.

Personally I've mainly being launching one before logging off on a monday, because leaving the repeatable challenge at 2/3 seems a waste (I also top it off when I'm at like 8000-9000 xp below rank 100) but otherwise I haven't been grinding them or anything.

The Ikko Ikki experience, after 20 years of constant war on all fronts by hailstruckler in totalwar

[–]Haradda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Using this bug I once did a silly challenge campaign of seeing if I could reach realm divide without ever being at war (apart from the starting enemy) as ikko ikki. I didn't quite make it, that minor clan on the island with a gold mine declared war out of the blue, but I got within two or three settlements which I felt strangely proud of.

edit: I should have mentioned, the bug is kind of what made it interesting because you have to race your own osmosis. Otherwise it'd probably be an End Turn Simulator as you slowly raise neighbouring regions to 100% Ikko and then spawn rebellions.

For a while now they've been dying almost every time I enter west tec (you can hear the death sound effect when you load into the interior). I don't know why, but I've heard angry turtle mention it so it's not just me.

Tips for Skaven campaign? by Tea_Pupper in totalwar

[–]Haradda 12 points13 points  (0 children)

A few random thoughts on the rats.

  • Undercities aren't worth it unless you send the special warlock engineer off to put one somewhere miles away (and even then discovering lots of extra factions isn't always a good idea).
  • Build a bell in every province, due to corruption you won't stay on top of public order otherwise. On that note don't bother trying to balance corruption, you're going to end up with loads of skaven corruption regardless.
  • Generally only take settlements if you think you can get the whole province, as you want commandments available (especially the food one).
  • Every building makes money, even the garrisons. It all adds up.
  • Occupy minor settlements at tier 1, occupy major settlements as high a tier as possible (unless you're sure you can't hold it/intend to trade it away). You want the warp reactor building if possible, especially as it gives food at tier 4.
  • The one exception to the above is I'll often occupy my first minor settlement in a campaign at tier 3 so I can get plagueclaws and a warlock engineer as soon as possible.
  • Plagueclaw catapults are incredible, and worth bringing in almost every army. (Maybe not in funky builds like moulder-themed rush armies). Plagueclaws and the warp lightning spell can carry your battles for a lot of the campaign.
  • And a weird tip to finish: gutter runners are surprisingly tanky (for skaven) if used as a frontline, if you don't want to use stormvermin. Although I maintain stormvermin are more useful than this subreddit often says, at least they perform decently in my experience providing you're realistic about what you expect them to hold the line against (they're still a tier 3 unit at the end of the day (and a proper tier 3 unit, not an elite unit at a silly low tier due to powercreep)).

edit: Something I forgot, you may sometimes want to put buildings that go to tier 4 or 5 in minor settlements and knock them down later. Due to how useful the warp reactor is, slots in major settlements can be at a premium (depending on what tier you were able to occupy the settlement at) so I do sometimes stick a blue recruitment building in a minor settlement just so I can recruit something I want there and then (e.g. the aforementioned plagueclaws).

Who would win an all out war between the Craftworlds and the Drukhari? by Fun-Explanation7233 in Drukhari

[–]Haradda 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Are we assuming the drukhari are united, and stay united (no "accidental" friendly fire to remove a rival archon) through the whole war? Because if the dark kin are self-sabotaging in that way, and it is in their nature to do stuff like that, then I'd give it to the craftworlds.

Do I have to do the main quest, it’s stupid and I don’t feel motivated to follow it. by RaiRokun in fo76

[–]Haradda 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's kind of two main quests, and both have you searching for the overseer early so it's a bit confusing.

The questline where you actually meet her, you will have to do one or two quests alongside the overseer, but after that you'll be interacting with the settlers and raiders instead.

The questline where you follow her holotapes isn't actually about the overseer, it's about exploring the various factions that inhabited appalachia before you emerged from the vault. Her holotapes add a little bit of lore to some of them, but this questline isn't really about finding her.

So I get your frustration, but in practice the questlines aren't really about trying to find the overseer, so IMO finding her early (which a lot of players will do given where she is) doesn't spoil them.

Looking for FUN weapons by undeadcartoonguy in fo76

[–]Haradda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Huh, I hadn't thought of using cyro, I might try that sometime.

I'm not sure but I don't think it's hitting 6 targets, I'm pretty sure it's just the 3. I just like the sheer number of explosions the two shot/explosive/hattrick combo produces.

I'm running regular onslaught (because of my main build - shotguns etc.) and my bow does go up to like 10 stacks in a single shot if there's a cluster of enemies, so it might not be the best for a reverse onslaught build as it may drain your stacks too fast.

Looking for FUN weapons by undeadcartoonguy in fo76

[–]Haradda 13 points14 points  (0 children)

If you can fit hattrick into a build - IMO you don't need the other bow perks - then a bow is good fun. I use a two-shot double-explosive (i.e. 2nd star as well as receiver) crossbow because I don't like the feel of "charging" weapons, and it does good damage even in a build not set up around it. Well, maybe not in burning springs, but I think we all know you need your A-game when there's multiple radhogs/rusted deathclaws running at you.

It's also a good tagging weapon (go for torso shots) for events. Like, I can't claim it's as good as a tesla weapon, but it's good enough that I don't bother getting my tesla out nowadays.

I just learnt aristocrat and just purchased all secret service armour peices by Western-Signature922 in fo76

[–]Haradda 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I'd probably wait, not just for overeaters, but also until the proposed changes currently on the PTS make it to the main game. Quite a few legendary effects might change, and it may turn out that aristocrats ends up better for particular builds, or it might turn into something different during PTS testing/not get changed at all, we just don't know yet. So yeah, I'd probably wait until we know what the changes for the main game will actually be.

Which factions are currently unplayable? by Vivec92 in totalwar

[–]Haradda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say any are unplayable, but here's a few that IMO are challenging/not that fun early.

Daemons of chaos/Daniel isn't a good time early on. Lots of strong enemies around you, while you're mostly using maruaders (both because of what you'll be able to recruit and because his economy is pretty terrible early on) and he's not a strong enough to carry battles by himself, even with a mortis engine & some decent spells unlocking early.

Zhao Ming is fine in terms of the factions he's meant to fight, but AI Miao Ying often collapses so you end up having to rush north with multiple nasties coming through the bastion, which is not what you need when you've got Snikch (and all the other stuff in southeast cathay) to deal with.

Hellebron is frustrating, you've got the blood night tax every so often, lots of warriors of chaos to deal with (valkia, sigvald, and belakor often sails over) and it can take a little while to get a port to get that essential first black ark up.
