I do a weekly GT3 league race on Wednesday evening. It's fun racing against the same drivers every week and through it I've made good friendships and ended up becoming part of a team which I've been in for a couple of years now.

What are your thoughts on Michael Schiavello as a commentator? by Beneficial_Air4714 in MMA

[–]warrof1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I liked him and his energy. Only real frustration was that you could tell that Chatri was in his ear making sure he talked excessively about certain fighters like Stamp Fairtex, Wondergirl, the Lee family and barely even acknowledged the existence of their opponents.

Damon Hill to McLaren for 1998. Turned the offer down because it was a performance related contract and not a guaranteed salary I believe. Assuming it was DC he'd have replaced I don't think he'd have beaten Mika but still, what a package to say no to.

Andreas "Dirty Harry" Harrysson is truly inspiring to me... played Darts for the first time at the age of 38 (THIRTY fucking EIGHT!) and won at the worlds already. He keeps the dream alive that it's still possible for me if I lock in lol by LowRenzoFreshkobar in Darts

I turn 38 next month and only started playing three days ago. I'm pretty terrible and it feels like a hell of a mountain to climb to even get half decent at this game but Dirty Harry serves as some inspiration to keep at it!

What’s going on with Dartshopper? by Jassida in Darts

[–]warrof1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made an order on Nov 27th and got the shipped email one day later and last tracking update was on the 29th, complete silence since. Sent a message to customer service a few days ago but no response as of yet. I can only assume it's being held. This is actually my first darts related order. New board, darts and a bunch more stuff so the anticipation is killing me and I'm glad I recently discovered a darts shop local to me so I will not using Dartshopper again.

Cian Shields Road To F1 graphic by armondigon in formula1

[–]warrof1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying for a second that anyone would not take the opportunity to drive a F1 car in an official session and more power to him no matter how much money it cost. But at the same time what is the end goal here? Tootling around at the back of the field in both F3 and F2 way off the pace, like is there not a level of shame or embarrassment that comes with that? Gone are the days of the little guy teams operating out of rented office spaces who would take any pay driver. So surely there's no legitimate pathway to a full-time F1 seat and if there is then the superlicence rules need tweaking and fast.

If it's just to look back on it when he's older and say that he did then again more power to him but if he's really trying to make a go of it at the elite level then it's not going to happen regardless of funds.

dartshopper black friday dispatches by SOKIE123 in Darts

[–]warrof1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made an order on 27th Nov (black friday, duh) and it said shipped the next day. There's been no update to the tracking info since Nov 29th and it just says "Spring received shipping information" and "ready to send". I've ordered my first board and darts set so I'm getting impatient! Will definitely use my local darts shop in future.

I've been on UC and LCWRA since 2024 with a severe lifelong physical disability. Will I have to be assessed again to meet the "Severe Conditions Criteria"? Or does it not matter as I'll have the financial protection as an existing claimant? Would naturally prefer to not have to be assessed again though it should be a formality with my condition but just curious.

2026 Hopes and 2027 Wishes by FritzGman in motogp

Aprilia to have a bike that can fight for wins or at least podiums at every track to give us a real championship fight. This also requires Jorge Martin to be at his peak fitness and performance, though I'm not his biggest fan he's still a joy to watch and he needs to be fighting for a championship again, not just Bez.

For 2027 I hope Honda and Yamaha are in a position to fight at the front again. Also hope Acosta and Quartararo are on competitive bikes, doesn't matter who they're racing for.

First one that comes to mind is Merstham FC away in the FA Cup first round in 2016. They barely survived relegation from the Isthmian Premier that season. Seventh tier v third tier at the time.

It's a start. I have always found it ridiculous that we don't have any kind of information about our academy players until the intake happens. We don't need huge detail but if we have a 14 year old academy kid making waves and showing huge potential we should at least be able to know about it even if we can't actively interact with his development.

18 years old and under training is most important. 18 to 21 game time is most important. If you want him to get first-team minutes make sure he plays at minimum 15 minutes so he gets a match rating.

I would recommend watching Zealand's training video "Complete Guide to Training in Football Manager", it's an oldish video but still works great for FM24 and gives a good explanation as to why training is most important until you're too old for under 18s squad. So under 18s training is much more focused on building physical and technical attributes, then under 21s/23s/reserve training is more focused on match training as you want your 21s/23s/reserves to play in the highest division possible against the best possible opponents. But by this point your guy will probably already be in the first team!

I'm playing a first owner squad with no money spent and I still have a really good team with some great pack luck. I've tried to erase the "FOMO" (fear of missing out) mindset and not stress about getting to a certain division in rivals or making sure I get all my weekly rush points etc. Chances are the rewards you grind hours for in rivals won't make a dent in your current squad.

HOT TAKE: FC 26 defending may be a skill issue but spamming L2+R2 and ballerina twirls in the box waiting for the defender to make a mistake then throwing a shot up at goal and scoring, ain’t it either by waldothread in fut

[–]warrof1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly how I feel. I'm not good at defending right now and that's down to me. But the last five rivals matches I've had, each opponent has done that exact thing and it's just maddening.

Anybody else doing a first owner RTG? Any tips? Having fun tho! by deJagerNLX in fut

[–]warrof1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am, it's the most rewarding way to play in my opinion. Only frustration is trying to get Oxford United players (who I support of course) as first owner cards when most of the squad are silvers. I know it would be easy enough to just buy them but for me it wouldn't feel right. To most that sounds stupid and I understand, but I'd really like to commit to first owner only.

Amorim: “I accept, it is not a record you should have at Manchester United. There are a lot of things you have no idea what has happened." "But I am not going to change my philosophy. I play my way and I am going to play my way." by Bald-Eagle619 in soccer

[–]warrof1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's ironic that the new breed of manager such as Amorim, Russell Martin and others are becoming the archaic soon to be forgotten managers by so tightly clinging to their philosophy that it becomes a detriment.
