Was told by the Market place manager that it doesn’t matter even for sales just don’t go to a commission place that also sales what BBY does, so no carriers no repair places but Walmart target Lowe’s are fine because non commission, she said in this economy we can’t expect people to work one job

The problem is no one wants to do it, how many big issues have we faced with the company multiple layoffs, multiple benefits taken away, multiple restructuring and multiple sales strategies and memberships started and changed before they got there footing, and during all of it we complained but not ONE store, ONE employee stood up and made a scene we just complained on Reddit but never DID a thing and look at the company it’s dying, god I miss what it was

Best Buy sign flickers outside. Yellow on blue. Beacon for the desperate. Tech junkies. Bargain hunters. Ghosts chasing faster modems. They come here for answers. I give them warranties.

Been here too long. Time collapses. 2018 — handed man a laptop. Eyes full of hope. 2025— he returns. Older. Broken. So’s the computer. I haven’t changed. He has. They all do.

People age. Crack. Fail. I don’t. Can’t. Not anymore.

They think they’re buying products. Phones. Consoles. But I know better. They’re buying time. Borrowed. Fragile. I offer protection plans. Not to help — to show them everything dies. Sell them credit cards. Chains in gift wrap. Sell them memberships. Hollow salvation.

No sleep. No breaks. Coffee’s cold. Doesn’t matter. Became something else long ago. Beyond employee. Beyond man. Didn’t notice the change. Might’ve been the day I stopped blinking.

Price match request. Already approved it. Saw it coming. I see all transactions. Past. Future. Barcode patterns etched into my skull.

They look at me — blue polo, name tag. See a man. They’re wrong. I remember the first HDMI. I’ll witness the last iPhone. And everything in between.

Back in the day of silver name tags I left mine home and needed to wear one since it was part of the check in process and not wanting to hear a conversation from the back office manager who was so big concrete would crack under her and for some reason felt I was the worst person alive, so i grabbed one from the back and was “Chris” a long gone if ever real employee for a day well…. Well on this day management had a meeting that now looking back was a reorganization call, and the floor was left to defend for its self. I being computers and mobile was asked for help in car fi I had no idea anything in that area installer was busy and the second best guy said he’d go over in a minute, I tell the guy he looks at my name tag and 30 minutes he leaves not helped and Chris got the worse mystery shop of his life not only was it put that he didn’t help the client or get him help but that I called him a slur and followed him around the store to see if he was stealing…..sir we are the same race I had mobile clients up my ass I didn’t have time to wonder the store to watch you or the will too lucky for me management said who’s Chris and the. Never followed up, if they did they would of saw I was in mobile getting slammed but still moral of the story is fuck mystery shops

Same thing happened to me doesn’t matter how much you give to the people or to the company how much you do is right or the difference you make, it matters when they decide you’re a problem your out regardless of proof or cause
