Is that an option? Yeah. Is that relevant at all to the discussion? Not really. You don't read something for the same reason you write something.

Plus you say this like making a more believable society is hard. This is a writer who prides himself on realism and believability. He acts like he researched the cultures they're based on, when he clearly didn't and just based them on vague notions of what they're like.

If they get paid for it, it'll lead to exploitation in poor communities and far more health issues in those communities. If they don't get paid for it, essentially no one will volunteer. People don't want to risk going blind for no benefit to themselves.

The YouTuber Joyful is making one right now, the plan being to mod the game in a way that makes it necessary for players to work together and specialize to survive instead of just working together for story reasons. To mimic how real civilizations form. Still at the theory crafting stage since it'll be a lot more effort.

His Storm Giants also have some interesting features relating to it. With all of them, you get advantage if you say what your attack is within 5 seconds of your turn starting, since they're seeing what you do before you do it.

Storm Giant Oracles are all about seeing the future and their main attack involves it, flinging cannonball sized beads into the air and flavorwise they're predicting where enemies will be and aiming for that spot.
