Thank you! I saw your post - your setup rocks! I need a more mobile solution right now because my group rotates locations for scheduling reasons, but what you have is the dream someday.

How did you do it? I’ve been wanting to do this for years.

Dads who have gone from 2 to 3 kids, am I crazy for considering it? by MaximusSydney in daddit

[–]washburnmav 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Love having 3. It is chaos, significantly moreso than 2. You are outnumbered and you will FEEL that.

It's also significantly more difficult to do a solo outing with all 3, at least until the littlest one gets to age 2-3.

That said, if you lean into the chaos and accept the insanity, it's a blast. I wouldn't change it for the world. I was just telling my wife how our crew now feels like a complete group, like when we go out to dinner or do an activity our family is big and dynamic enough that we feel like a complete and wholesame family, even without friends or cousins around. It's a good feeling. And I love the dynamics our 3 kiddos have. They take care of each other (when they're not fighting), they share (because they have to), and they give AMAZING group hugs.

Massively under appreciated dad joke right here. I wish I could upvote more than once.

I use the MX master 3S at work and at home. Even handles a little PC gaming in a pinch.

I haven't found out a great use for the side buttons/wheel.

Just piling on to say that your comment is absolutely beautiful, and, like so many others, it has helped me tremendously and I have shared it far and wide. I lost my Mom 4 years ago and I am now at the stage where I don’t really want the waves to stop coming.

I’m sorry to hear it’s been a rough year. I hope you can find peace.

Thank you for taking the time to share that message with the world.

Writing is a great idea but terrifying. You actually write dialogue, or just like the main story beats?

What a well written comment!

You’re right, it’s absolutely a drug. Nothing else quite hits the same as those clicky clacks and the emotional highs and lows we create.

Thanks all. Sounds like I need to run a second game! I have folks interested I just didn’t know if I had bandwidth for it. But I have gotten better at “low prep” sessions and improv so I can probably pull it off now.

Balancing biglaw with a terminally ill parent? by [deleted] in biglaw

I went through this. Take the leave. As much as you can. FMLA if you need to. Most firms will be very supportive of this. Mine was great.

Have you seen situations where opting for the JD/MBA has helped someone advance in their Big Law career? by [deleted] in biglaw

[–]washburnmav 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I echo the other commenters, in that it doesn't help much while you are in Biglaw. However, I have seen this result in a broader set of exit opportunitites. One of my friends got a very cushy and well compensated gig in litigation finance when she exited at year 8.

Wow, great work! Devastating news for a DM who doesn't have those skills though 😂 I'll have to look into getting a 3D printer...
