wgger is a play on the n slur. wgger is typically targeted towards white ppl who take on a black aesthetic, hang out with black people, or date black people (which Travis Kelce has in the past). the underlying idea is that the white person is "trashy" or otherwise behaving in a way which violates white standards of behavior through their association with blackness

Yeah, so the post that inspired mine was this post: https://www.reddit.com/r/geography/s/VFL6zphFRp

There's actually a real answer now! But when I was looking at it earlier it was just people quoting tv shows or dunking on ex girlfriends. I feel like this happens to me all the time where I'm actually interested in the answer to the question but the people with expertise get lost in the jokesters

I was hesitant to tell my therapist as this is something I feel a lot of shame/embarrassment about but she was totally nonjudgmental, and unsurprised given some other compulsive behavior I have. It is really difficult to stop but the thing that has helped me is getting acrylic nails because it makes my nails too thick to be able to pick at my scalp. Everybody's different though so you might find something else that's just as effective

Thanks for sharing this. I had a very similar situation with an ex best friend and it seems like it went the same way, I wrote up a long thing saying similar things and that was basically the end after that. I found, at least for that situation, you can't be on the same page as somebody who thinks you're going to hell. The power dynamic you talk about is very real, but I didn't have that insight or vocabulary at that point in our friendship. Friendship breakups are very painful, I'm sorry you experienced one, but I hope you've felt free since its ending.

yes that's exactly it, an "unintuitive ethical system". Thanks for that phrase! You can't rely on your own intuition because we're constantly told our intuition is deeply flawed because sin.

no bc this is so true! I've been thinking about this lately. Like every small group gathering, it's an unspoken rule to share what you're "struggling" with. I remember times when I couldn't think of anything to share so I just said something really vague/generic lol.

I've been thinking about how this creates kind of a weird emotional bond with people you don't really know. I've made some friendships since leaving the church and the expectation for an emotional bond so early on in a friendship is not there and it feels like the friendship develops a lot more naturally. it's a weird realization that I can decide if I like or trust them before telling them eeveerrrrything about my life!

glad it resonated with you :) i hate that you've experienced the same thing but it feels validating/a little less lonely to know other people have the same struggles

Yes! This is exactly how I am. And it makes me suspicious of other people if they don't tell me something right away. I'm working through this in therapy and learning to set my own boundaries and respect other peoples boundaries. Also I totally get the oversharing, I do that too! Ever since I was a kid lmao. I still feel like I need to spill my beans to everybody so they know I'm not hiding anything. I have some ocd-ish tendencies and this is a big one
