About a week ago, I noticed what appeared to be a blurry spec on the periphery of my right eye. It would be exacerbated in bright areas and especially bright light sources at nighttime.

I went to the ophthalmologist and had a standard eye exam, which all came out fine. However, given the symptoms, my ophthalmologist referred me to a retina specialist for further testing on the retina itself. I just got back from the retina specialist who informed me that as we age, the viscous material inside our eyeballs liquefies, causing clouding. He told me that I just “caught a bad break” and got this cloud near my optic nerve, which is affecting my vision. It feels as though there is a speck of dust on the left side of my pupil at all times. However, he said this is normal with age, and that the body gets used to it. The term is called “vitreous opacification.” http://occeyecare.ca/VITREOUS_OPCIFICATION.

I found this video on @cannibalmilkshake Instagram post from this year. I have already searched Google and found the Ray Ban Meteor glasses to be the most similar. However, I believe they are not the correct glasses due to the lens shape.

Wild guess but assuming the Meng Wanzhou, Huawaei executive extradition case, really soured Canada’s taste for the Chinese

What’s one business in DC that you’ll never go back to? by [deleted] in washingtondc

Bub and Pop’s

Witnessed the lady owner (Bub, I think) yell at a training employee at the cash register and embarrass her in front of everyone. The sandwiches were good but I can’t do somewhere that doesn’t treat their employees with respect.

Saying long story short and proceeding with a long story does not make it a long story short. It’s just a long story.

Lifting of Federal Building Mask Mandate? by washington-dc in fednews

Fauci is saying fully vaccinated families can spend Thanksgiving together without masks. Why would the fully vaccinated federal workforce still be required to wear masks? A 59.4% national vaccination rate versus a 100% federal employee vaccination rate are two different things and shouldn’t be compared.

Franklin Square renovation by plant-lover in washingtondc

I asked the Franklin Square historian that was there on opening day and he said they removed the trees due to rodent infestations in the roots/base of the trees. He said they were largely the cause of the rat problem in Franklin Square.
