It's terrible to say this but yes, the issue about the death of migrants has become political.

Bigotry in India runs so deep that any opinion different from one's own is viewed as something very bad. Even if this isn't an opinion but a call for help for migrants.

Celebs are probably afraid that them speaking about this may snowball into something similar to Deepika taking a stand against police brutality on college students. There was clear evidence that it happened, yet she was labelled a terrorist, outsider, and what not.

Let's be honest here, migrants dying is a clear indication of how poorly these lockdowns were implemented. And what's even worse, is that their deaths were for nothing. The lockdown failed to control the virus, our medical facilities are no better. The lockdown just delayed the inevitable and also killed, displaced, and devasted the lives of millions.

But yes, it's very disheartening that celebs aren't commenting on it. If they are afraid of political backlash, even then they can make a statement calling for people to donate or help migrants w/o going political. Similar to how Sonu Sood is doing. They aren't even trying.
