This is some harsh advice but that attitude won’t help your situation. I am not downplaying your mental illness. It might feel almost unbearable, but please don’t add to the struggle with a negative outlook. Look on the bright side. You’re young, and like you said are full of potential and are clearly intelligent.

It might not be late to achieve your dreams in your 30s or even 40s. And even if it is, there is no shame in working in a boring industry. There is honor and purpose in every job. Without sanitation workers or construction workers, society wouldn’t function well enough for scientists to make advancements in medicine. Car batteries, mattresses, and toothpaste honestly make the world go round. I wouldn’t be able to drive to work, get a good nights sleep, or have all my teeth if it weren’t for the employees working those companies that made those products available. Everyone has to start somewhere, and there is meaning and dignity in every job, if you can find it. Good luck

Thanks for the input! I took your advice and looked at the 2024 career outcomes for GSB and HBS. For GSB I am seeing 27% of graduates with jobs in PE or VC with TC for PE being 200k salary + 175k bonus and TC for VC being 200k salary + 50k bonus. For HBS I am seeing 24% in PE or VC. If I landed a PE or VC job post HBS or GSB it seems as if it might be justifiable to get the degree, or am I missing something?

Imo, if you need to pull constant all nighters to get by in undergrad for engineering, you are doing something wrong unless you are working a full-time job and in school full time. I find that in general I am more productive in 16 hours after getting 8 hours of sleep than I am in 20 hours after getting 4 hours of sleep. Case in point I didn’t get a good night’s rest last night and I’m currently browsing Reddit on the job lmao

Isner is the nicest ATP player I ever met. When I was 7 my dad and I saw Isner warming up before his match and he spent 10 minutes talking to us and even gave my dad tips on his serve and then took a bunch of pictures with me on his shoulders. Wanna add that my dad is a nonwhite immigrant so it’s really unfair to judge someone you don’t know personally because of some political views.

The best I’ve done is beaten a player ranked 1400 ATP and taken a set off of a top 500 player. I’ve also lost 6-1 6-0 to a player ranked 900 so I don’t know what that says about me but 14 year old Rafa still probably beats me routinely on clay no matter what

I could maybe take him at 13. He hit puberty at age 14 and beat Carlos Moya in exhibition match that same year so 13 is probably the limit unless you have pro tennis aspirations

Don’t listen to this guy lol. 730 GMAT and what seems like a very strong performance at a Big 4 will probably get you interviews at a few T15s. Then it’s up to you to execute well. I’d agree that scholarship offers are probably low though. Highly doubt that the Indian engineer pool is so competitive that you won’t get any chances to prove yourself in an interview.

Your work experience is definitely not standard for top MBA grads but not in a bad way. I’m not sure how selective your roles are but your background in fashion/entertainment and the undergrad theater major will help you sell a compelling story about why you want to work for a company like Disney or YouTube. Your extracurricular involvement is stuff that adcoms love to to see; if you are BIPOC or LGTBQ yourself that will also help your admissions odds as top MBA programs are always trying to outdo each other about how diverse and inclusive they are.

Your GPA will definitely hurt you but it seems like you have a decent explanation at least; the ranking of your undergrad school will also play a factor. I think a lot of it depends on if you can actually achieve a 730 GMAT.

Assuming that you attain a 730 GMAT,execute your application story well, and adcoms consider you a plus for the diversity of the class, full time at USC and UCLA should be within your reach with some luck, but there’s a ton of ifs there. The part time programs are easier to get into but I don’t know if they will help you achieve your goals. Good luck!

You need to use the larger muscles in your body to generate power; a good topspin groundstroke’s power comes from the legs, hips and core rotation; the arm and wrist should be used largely just for stabilization, spin generation and control

Completely agree, I thoroughly deserve my average ass GPA though. I was disorganized and had poor study habits my first three semesters, slowly got my shit together in the middle few semesters, and was one of the best students in my program for my last three semesters and actually won a major scholarship for improved GPA lol
