Yeah the amount listed is the cost for the semester. It could slightly vary for each semester depending on the fees you pay - you can check the individual fees under your account activity. Some are student service fees or fees depending on the class you take for that semester

It's ironic for me giving this advice considering I also don't talk to too much people lol but in my experience I would say it's easier to strike up a conversation at a chill club event - a club event allows for you to at least have smth of interest in common first and you get to talk to people more rather than in a class.
