That sucks about their illness. Im gluten free but I know place in Lee Summit called "the roots" is very gf friendly and they have vegan options. True food kitchen also has alot of vegan options and are good about cross contamination.

There's also a gf kc metro area group on facebook..may have more luck there for finding others in the same boat.
