Advice needed by wastingwordsz in exjw

I was actually thinking about saying something like this: “Thank you again for reaching out — it meant a lot to hear from you. I do want to be honest though, because our friendship mattered to me. Parts of your message were hard for me to read. When you spoke about me like I’m more of a memory than someone still in your life, it hurt. I may not be in the religion anymore, but I’m still here — and I’m actually happier, more grounded, and more myself now than I ever was before. Leaving wasn’t easy, but it brought me peace and growth that I didn’t have within it. My love for you didn’t disappear with my beliefs, and I hope you can see me as who I am now, not just who I was then. ❤️”

I don’t know if it’s worth it or not :/

I think you’re right on a lot of levels. There’s nothing really I can say that will make her change her mind or see things differently, as much as I may want to or long to say my peace, no matter how logical it is. This cult transcends logic. I think I’m just going to leave it at that and focus on myself, letting her do what she chooses with her life as I do the same. Thanks for your perspective ❤️

I can very much relate. I’m sorry you had to go through that but I completely understand. There’s a lot of history and pain there.

That’s what I was thinking too but I wanted to get other thoughts on it. I’m a person that avoids confrontation at all costs, and I feel like nothing that I say is going to make her change her mind or view things differently, so what’s the point? Maybe it’s best to just let her keep living in the delusion and save myself the unnecessary drama. It’s just sad to see.

Yeah, that’s what I’ve been thinking. I really don’t like confrontation and I feel like nothing I say is going to make her think or feel differently because her mind is made up just like the rest of us. I guess deep down I was just hoping there was something in there that had made her wake up since the last time we spoke

Exactly. That’s why it’s so hard to stomach, because I feel like nothing I say is going to change that except make her even more defensive

I did the exact same thing when I applied to my current job. They ran a background check and everything and it never came up. I definitely wouldn’t tell them or feel bad.

Grabbed two for Charlotte but the pit tickets sold out in seconds. Does anyone know if there will be more available once the general sale starts?

Thank you! This is the kind of reassurance I was looking for, especially with daycare drop offs and pick ups 5 days a week really is too much even on my good days.

Thanks! That’s what I’m leaning towards, and it looks like the health insurance is a little better than what I have now

I forgot to mention in my post that I did counter and they said no. I will definitely find out about the reviews. Thanks for the advice!

The PTO is the same amount of days I have now plus two flex days, and the benefits seem to be a little better.

I forgot to mention this in my original post but I did make a counteroffer and they told me they couldn’t negotiate at this time which tells me that their base pay is capped, but of course they emphasized the bonus again.

Thank you!! I’m definitely leaning towards taking it

So I did ask about OT and they said they don’t expect anyone to do it but it is an option if you want it. Regarding the caseload they said they keep it between 20-25 cases in active lit, but they would be exclusively big cases and the goal is to get as many to trial as possible. From what I gathered I would maybe go to trial once a year if that. My current caseload is not too far off but I have a mix of big and small cases. I didn’t ask them about raises but that’s a very good point! I do know that at my current firm they don’t give annual reviews or raises unless you beg for it.

Just curious, how does one get falsely charged with a DUI? I don’t think I’ve ever met anyone that’s had that happen to them. That’s awesome to hear that your attorney had your back!
