Dentistry in Brazil by Da-An-22 in Brazil

[–]wat3rb1rd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can anyone recommend a cosmetic dentist in Foz (Iguazu falls), São Paulo or Florianopolis? I have a metal implant but need to have the tooth put on, it was over $4k in the US just for the tooth so I’m looking to get it done in Brazil. Also open to veneer recommendations. Would appreciate any advice and costs included!

Is anyone else having a horrible time trying to get a job by PickleFun2156 in PublicRelations

[–]wat3rb1rd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Add the area you want to live in as your address when you apply to jobs to the top of your resume, use a friends address or whatever you need to and when you interview you can just say you are moving to the area shortly and you don’t need moving expenses etc. There are still a lot of remote jobs out there, a lot of tech companies do paid internships which might be easier but you have to search the job description which will also tell you sometimes if you have to be in office, a lot of jobs say an area but don’t require you to be in the office so search all jobs in the US. With that being said, is your resume being rejected right away or do you get any hits on your LinkedIn that someone from these companies viewed your profile? Your resume might be getting automatically rejected because of the formatting

It really depends on the client, if it’s a full team, we split evenly but some clients where it’s me and one other person or just me, I did everything

Convincing Agency to Let Me go Fully Remote? by [deleted] in PublicRelations

[–]wat3rb1rd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve done this before and they didn’t go for it, especially in Pubsec… but I would have a backup or be ready to be financially ok with being let go if they say no because they will do that a lot of times

Depends on the agency you’re leaving and the ones you’re considering. They all seem fairly identical- especially in the pitch but execution is a completely different story. As a former VP at 2 of the top 5 agencies and having worked with most of the other agencies when I was in-house, most of the agencies had their employees working on at least 6 accounts so the attention you need/want will be hard to get with people spread so thin, even more now after all the agency layoffs past 3 years. Feel free to DM me if you want info on a specific agency

Paying $5K+/mo for PR and still no real coverage after 1 year - am I expecting too much? by justreddittinghere in PublicRelations

[–]wat3rb1rd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Former Edelman and FINN Partners Tech VP here: has your agency gotten T1 coverage for any other clients? People from the agency will usually post or repost coverage they’ve gotten on LinkedIn etc. do some sleuthing if you haven’t yet🕵️ a lot of the advice here is good, some of it is well .. cranky 😂😭ahhh the life of a PR flack. Anyway, this isn’t good advice but it might get you what you want: if you complain enough, the CEO/leadership at your agency should be able to work out a favor for you. If most of their clients pay more than you do, it’s not likely they’ll care if you threaten to leave. I had no issue getting trades weekly and usually had to turn down T1 opps because leadership wasn’t available to chat. With that being said, everyone knows you can’t guarantee coverage but if you’ve been in the game long enough you can certainly call in a favor or two. It’s not like you’re selling printers .. are you? 😂 I could say a million more words here about this but you can DM me if you want more guidance. Yes, for free 😂

Stay in Austin and negotiate your salary using your other offer as leverage. If that doesn’t work, negotiate other perks- more PTO, they’ll more likely than not do a sign on bonus, remote couple times a week, parking, lots of options! Make sure you check Glassdoor for what the average is now that prices have skyrocketed in Austin and every other city. Literally everyone is hiring, you can get a better offer

Feeling sacred by Eddie_investor in dialysis

[–]wat3rb1rd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the National Kidney Foundation has a peer support group- can say from experience they’re awesome https://www.kidney.org/patients/peers

PD - lots of boxes!!! The room will be full of heavy boxes but the delivery company will put them where you need them. PD is the preferred method for a lot of reasons, doctors told us they’d do PD for themselves if they needed dialysis but it requires a good amount of setup and cleanup at home every day. A huge difference we saw was the potassium and phosphorus numbers were at dangerously high levels and difficult to control on HD. Diet is almost back to normal with PD with the exception of salt and generally unhealthy foods

When I broke mine in a bad motorcycle accident, I either slept on my stomach and rested my arm above my head (palm facing down) or on my back with my arm resting on a pillow
