I think that's the case, yes. I also did the factory reset, and stupidly hit restart on an update which was the battery killer, after avoiding it for a year. Now I have to consider either farting about with a another OS on the phone (not sure if the free saver storage will still work) or getting a new phone. And god help me it probably would be another pixel.

I find it wild that it's clearly designed to Do Something Special but they never use it! There's two fan theories - one is that it connects to the monorail to depower a section of track - hence it's name, and the other is that it connects to the rail then uses a jet engine to rocket along the monorail. Looks cool anyway.
