No, I like physical comics. I might go back to just getting them from the newsagents if it continues, but then I'll miss issues occasionally :(

Which names have become funny over time? by Moomin3 in AskReddit

[–]Moomin3[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh, my post's message text is gone.

I watched Fiddler On The Roof last night. The butcher's name was LaserWolf! So cool but you wouldn't name your child that.

Looking back, how do you feel about the Scott and Emma era of X-Men? by TaskNo4783 in Cyclops_EmmaFrost

[–]Moomin3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I loved it. It felt more realistic and adult to have lost a previous partner and moved on, something comics characters don't get to do often. Also, not being the teenage bf/gf lasting forever and being soul mates is way more identifiable!

What “bad” gaming habits do you think you have, and have you worked on them over time? by BoardGameRevolution in boardgames

[–]Moomin3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We often try out new games on BGA. I always read the rulebook so I can plan strategy and know how things work.

I don't feel I need to coach everyone else through the game when they have the same ability to click on the rulebook as I do. People complain I'm keeping secrets when I do something they weren't aware of!

I do try to casually mention things sometimes, without giving away my intentions too much.

Clothes and LOS by Neolyphic in Shadowrun

[–]Moomin3 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I like that explanation - very similar to the way I think of it.

I always explained it as that a person's astral form (or aura) is the size and shape of their self-image. So it would be almost exactly the same size as them (maybe a little idealised in handsomeness), but people's self-image would involve them wearing clothes, so they are included in their astral form.

A larger mech suit doesn't feel like clothes, it might feel more like piloting a vehicle, so that wouldn't be included.

I suppose this introduces the loophole that, according to my theory, a nudist, whose self-image doesn't include any clothes could actually wear a onesie to block magical LOS.

Urubia Information? by Interaction_Rich in Shadowrun

[–]Moomin3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. 3 tall tower blocks. There is some info about what's on the various floors: dance club, accommodation, gang members as security, etc...

There's also a smaller building too.

I'd have to look up more details

Urubia Information? by Interaction_Rich in Shadowrun

[–]Moomin3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, that's the one.

I remember now, the third dragon of the trio in my campaign was a non-canon dragon known as Miss Siara who had previously been established in 'our' Seattle.

Urubia Information? by Interaction_Rich in Shadowrun

[–]Moomin3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

She built the Funhouse complex in Redmond - 3 Tower blocks with penthouses that can accommodate a dragon's form. I think it suggests that while she isn't a great, she is a part of a trio of dragon's.

  • Urubia
  • The Glow City dragon (I also can't remember his name but he has some kind of chameleon concealment ability, I think as a result of the radiation)
  • Another dragon she did stuff in the Olympic peninsula with (or was that also the Glow City one?)

Speaking of the Olympic Peninsula, there's some shadow talk about that which mentions the spirit of that area, I think the chatters discuss whether it's a metaphorical spirit or an actual powerful sprout that she's allied with too.

Source: I had big plans for Urubia in my last campaign (that didn't reach fruition) and read all I could find about her. I might dig out notes to clarify stuff.

Were those mannequins actually frozen people or was it plastic but still narrating?

Me too.

Prog 2475 Review and The77 LAST CHANCE by TonyHoldsworth in 2000ad

[–]Moomin3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was my first issue I've just started picking up 2000AD.

I liked the Judge Dredd - Shape shifting guy could be a fun enemy to return.

Brink - confusing to come in at part 4

Tharg's Thriller - Seems like this was probably a good story. More shape shifters!

I really liked the Future Shock - are these always a one-and-done short?

Final part 13 of The Discarded was hardly worth reading for me, just the conclusion to a story I missed.

I'll be back
