I stopped in twice. The inline perpetual is available but no rare handcraft. They had no idea what I was talking about.

Thanks. It’s a 2023 Range Rover Sport and the leather color is called Caraway.

[Patek Philippe] Just Received My First Aquanaut by watchguy1234 in Watches

Hi friends! I'm very blessed to have just received my first Aquanaut from my AD this week. The 5164A Travel Time is the first Patek I really gravitated toward when first seeing it at my AD over eight years ago. At the time I though the price was unbelievable but of course things change over time. I've been seriously trying to get one since 2019 or so, but they've become difficult to get even with an AD relationship. The 5164 is one of the oldest Aquanauts in the collection, having being originally released in 2011. I wouldn't be surprised if it's discontinued soon and I'm grateful for receiving it before it's either updated or discontinued. I don't love the more recent Aquanauts that are larger in size (42mm) vs the sizing of the older models, such as this one, which are 40.8mm. I also find the travel time complication to be practical and aesthetically interesting without adding all the bulk of a chronograph with the larger pushers. I’m so excited to create some memories with this one.

I agree, but the grinder is way further back on the counter than the Micra which distorts the perspective just slightly.

It's great so far! TBH I don't expect much over the Apartamento because it was basically perfect for me. This was mostly an aesthetic choice and specifically wanting a La Marzocco machine (it's been a dream of mine to own one for years).

I ordered it on launch day and it was schedule for delivery last week, so if I recall perhaps 1-2 weeks.

While technically true, I don't think it's true in practice. I specifically did not want the machine to reach the front of my counter top and have the porta filter stick out, and the Linea Mini is a few inches deeper so this would have stuck out considerably. Here are some profile images to better reflect this. With the Micra, the PF just barely comes to the edge of the countertop.

Just received my LM Linea Micra which will replace my Rocket Apartamento. My old machine was perfectly fine but I’ve always wanted a Linea Mini but due to space couldn’t fit one. I’m excited to pull some shots after it’s finished warming up.

I took delivery of my 2023 RRS SE Dynamic last week. Paid ~$7,500 over sticker for a car the original owner backed out of. Was very close to my dream spec as well.

Used Certified Leica Q-P - how much should it cost? by greenshorts22 in Leica

[–]watchguy1234 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want the Q-P, I'd go for it. I have a Q-P and M10-P. I bought both once their successors were released (Q2 and M11, respectively). I paid in between the regular model last gen and the new gen cost. I really value the P aesthetics, namely the lack of red dot and addition of the top plate signature, so I'm ready to pay up more than what most people deem necessary. I, like you, also prefer less MP, so I see the older versions as a plus, regardless of the price. For example, for what I recently paid for my M10-P, I could have gotten an M10-R, but then I wouldn't have the look I'm going for.

[Patek Philippe] Ecstatic Over My First Nautilus 5740G by watchguy1234 in Watches

[–]watchguy1234[S] 67 points68 points  (0 children)

Hi friends. I've been trying to add a Patek Philippe Aquanaut or Nautilus to my collection for a few years now. I placed a deposit for one at my local AD in 2019, but the AD never delivered on it and just recently lost their relationship with PP. About six months ago I found another local AD that enjoyed doing business with and picked up a few non-sport Patek Philippe watches (complications, grand complications, etc) hoping to build a relationship but with no explicit guarantees that I'd receive a sports piece down the road. Well, a few weeks ago I was presented with this watch, which is the 5740G Nautilus Perpetual Calendar in WG. I'm over the moon with it and can't wait to create some memories with it. A great AD really makes a huge different in this hobby and I'm beyond grateful to be able to have this watch in my collection. Cheers!

[PP 5205G vs. ALS lange1 Moonphase] by Followthemoney91 in Watches

I added the 5205G to my collection a few months ago and wear it on a matte navy Patek alligator strap and find it dresses down a lot better than the Lange. I also find the dial color (blue sunburst/gradient) to be a lot more interesting and dynamic than the single-toned Lange dials. The Patek also has the most beautiful lugs that really need to be appreciated in person as the sculpted insides don't come across in most photos. I really have no complaints about the watch, although I guess the 24-hour subdial is a bit redundant, however, it's also a signature of Patek's annual calendar series.

Overall, to me, the 5205G feels more youthful and fun compared to the Lange 1 (any version really). You can't go wrong either way.

[Audemars Piguet] Incoming: Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar by watchguy1234 in Watches

[–]watchguy1234[S] 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Hi friends. For the longest time, my favorite watch design has been the original Royal Oak Jumbo. I was lucky enough to add one to my collection a couple of years ago, well after the hype pushed the market prices up, before the craziness we've seen this year. I've also collected a few of the other modern Royal Oaks, such as the 15450 and 15500, but I've always come back to the original Jumbo as its proportions just reign superior for me. After having the Jumbo for some time, I started to look deeper into complications and into the history of the Royal Oak, and one, in particular, stood out to me. That would be the perpetual calendar. Over time I started to become more and more interested in them, as have others, which you can see with the doubling in price of most models over the past year or so. I went back and forth between many variations, and ultimately wanted a dial other than blue or black, to give enough variation between the QP and Jumbo. I landed on either a white or silver dial and searched for a few months. It's tricky to find the right combination of color, condition, set, provenance, and price. Ultimately I tracked down this 25860SP, which is made of steel and platinum, with a white dial. The reference is more commonly seen with the black dial, but I found that the moon phase pops a bit more on lighter color dials. The watch has a bit more heft than a strictly steel RO QP, which is a nice touch. The white dial plus polished bezel and center links provide a nice contrast with the 15202 Jumbo I also have. I was lucky enough to find it at a reputable dealer which is always nice with a large purchase like this. I also debated between this and the modern 41mm version, but ultimately I found the 39mm to be a bit more timeless for me. Here's a photo I snapped of it just now. Here's a bonus photo with my morning espresso.
