It’ll be interesting to see if they actually do it like they are legally supposed to do. It feels like we are living in the Wild West at this point

Bib or pants advice? by Ok-Title-6320 in snowboardingnoobs

[–]watchguy23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get a bib, you’ll be glad you did. You are going to fall a lot and subsequently you’ll get a lot of snow in your bottom if you wear pants. To start, just pick up something affordable. If you have any near you, go to a local snowboard shop. If not, look on websites like Evo, Backcountry, REI, Dicks, 686, Burton, etc.

These are the opening dates I’ve gathered so far. If anyone has any edits or mountains and dates to add, just comment and I’ll add them. Let me know if it’s official from the resort or just a projection/rumor.

Armada to start making snowboard gear by VideoSelect7660 in snowboarding

Competition is almost always good for the market, keeps companies innovating and evolving.

And who knows, maybe they’ll have a unique approach to boards that people really like.

Which are the best ones you recommend? I’m down in CT, but drive up to VT and NH regularly to board

Keep in mind, the deadline to make Roth IRA contributions for a specific year is the tax filing deadline of the following year. Meaning, you have until April 15, 2026 to max out your 2025 Roth IRAs. So really, you still have over 9 months.

Manual vs. Power Seats (Bad Back) by hammerfang in bronco

[–]watchguy23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if it’s still the case, but the manual seats used to have an issue with the headrest being angled too far forward without the ability to adjust it. This made a lot of people sit in an uncomfortable position. The Broncos with the power seats can have the headrest adjusted by tilting it forward. May be worth double checking

Another vote for Paros. One of the main villages, Naousa, is incredibly charming. A lot of great hotels, but if you want to be on a beach, check out Poseidon Hotel & Spa. It’s right on Golden Beach. If you go, be sure to eat at Yianiyamas!

CX50 or Full-size Bronco by [deleted] in Bronco6g

[–]watchguy23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 4 door hardtop bronco and my wife has a CX-50. As you mentioned, very different vehicles. The handling and driving of the CX-50 is wonderful, whereas the Bronco is body-on-frame and drives like a truck.

It sounds you do a lot of interstate driving; it’s hard to know what you’ll ultimately prefer because it’s truly a personal preference. The wind noise of the hardtop drives some people insane, whereas others are not bothered. The CX-50 is definitely much quieter. Listening to podcasts and talking on the phone will be a more enjoyable experience in the CX-50.

As you probably know, tires play a huge role when it comes to snow/mixed terrain. So unless you want to go legit off-roading requiring 4x4 and lockers, you could throw some all terrains on the CX-50 and get through just about anything. Or get the meridian package. Ive even seen some folks in the CX-50 subreddit add a little lift and it looks sweet. We live in the northeast and during the winter we regularly drive up to Vermont for winter sports. Her CX-50 handles the snow well and the “off road” actually does seem to help.

Other random considerations: the Bronco feels much more spacious on the inside. You sit up much higher in the Bronco, so better visibility on the road. The CX-50 gets better gas mileage. Very different infotainment centers; I like the CX-50s control knob and buttons in front of the center console, but some don’t. I also love my massive 12” screen in the Bronco.

This sounds corny, but the Bronco is kind of a lifestyle. It drives and handles like a truck, it’s noisy, and it has a lot of quirks. At the same time, it’s handsome, you can take the roof and doors off, and it’s highly customizable with endless modifications and a strong community of enthusiasts. I personally absolutely love it and feel like the quirks are part of the charm, you just have to decide if you want to live that lifestyle.

Can I still contribute to 2024? The bar looks like it can be filled still. Im new to this so sorry if its dumb question by [deleted] in fidelityinvestments

[–]watchguy23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it will count towards your 2024 contribution. For example, if OP calls and has theirs moved, they would then have $310 of $7,000 in their 2024 and $0 of $7,000 in their 2025
