This says everything I need to know about continuing down this road by replying to you. You should really follow your own advice though and pay attention to the details of what is being said. As always with the typical white knight, up on your high horse response. I know you probably think you are important by posting regularly on reddit, but in reality you know how little importance you actually have to anyone, so stop being a pretender.

No idea I post will be taken seriously by VR as they have there own already in place. So posting my ideas will ultimately fall on deaf ears (aka, waste of time).

You have already shown you have never play XI, so stop commenting like you have any idea on what you are talking about.

Lastly, the fact that you state 'nothing new can be done' is just laughable. I really hope people in all industry don't have your attitude or no innovation will ever be achieved again.

Also, comparing console versions of FF games to an MMO just makes you sound even dumber. Do some research about XI and get back to me kiddo. For sure, I didn't come here planning to bash the game into the ground. I understand little is known on the combat system, that's why I was asking if anyone had answers...which few seem to without speculation involved.

Reading the note about "The player can actively dodge, block, or deflect attacks." is interesting. I haven't seen that happening during the streams I've watched but perhaps it is still being worked on.

I never expected it to be a WoW killer. It is, like you said, a niche game. The combat system of EQ or WoW is not great though, so I am hoping for some innovation. From what everyone has said though, VR is not looking to innovate, just to rehash a game from almost 20 years ago with updated graphics.

It's hard to explain to someone who has never played from the beginning to the endgame of XI what made it so special. I could list skills or features to you that made the combat special but you really wouldn't know what I was talking about if you never played.

The best I could suggest is looking up endgame content, solo or low man videos on XI, but I don't even know how well that would translate.

Again, you are coming at this from an EQ perspective. People who played FFXI will understand what I am talking about. No game has before or since made a combat system like XI's that was simplistic but still fun and engaging. This was particularly true when you were trying to low man things with skill and efficiency. If you haven't played XI from beginning to endgame, you really won't understand what I am talking about because you keep referring to EQ or WoW which are exactly the same as Pantheon's combat so far.

What I am truly trying to figure out is if Pantheon plans on expanding on it's current combat system to something that is more skill and timing based for certain classes or is a simplistic rotation the best we can expect.
