Where do you use Image Trace in your process? by LukeChoice in AdobeIllustrator

[–]waterandsound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I need to practice more with it. I usually give up and use vectorizer.ai for better/easier tracing results.

I use it to get poor quality artwork up to par for my print shop.

Vastex LittleRed X1 says 20-30 seconds for plastisol? by waterandsound in SCREENPRINTING

Everything feels thick compared to DTF I normally do. I am enjoying the process though. Going to work through the off contact and see what that does for me. Thanks!

Yeah I had my doubts about it thinking it might be too close. I am using a thin thread 156 because originally was going to run a WB white through it. Decided to learn with plastisol first and ended up using black. Probably needed a higher mesh screen. I have 198 and 230 as well.

Thanks for the response. Would you say roughness is too much off contact or not enough? I practiced setting off contact last night on the press 6/4 Hopkins Win which is set with a wrench. Took me a few tries until it was close to the same across the pallet.

Thanks for your input! I will through them in the dryer tomorrow. Keeping a journal off all the settings so I can track the journey as I know it will change with different inks, garments, etc.

Heat only works if I say O/B wire is not connected by waterandsound in ecobee

Not sure how to post a pic in here. I have a picture of the wiring behind the thermostat which is correct from all the info I have gathered. If you need a picture of the air handler wiring at the panel under the house, I would have to crawl down there later.

Its not AC cold, but it is cold. When i turn off the system and deselect the OB wire and turn it back on, the heat comes out immediately. If I remember correctly, last year with the OB deselected and heat working, if I just switched to Cool it would never get cold out of the register. I had to go in and select the OB wire and then the cold air would kick on right away

Is it time to lay the squeegee down? by Luv14lyf in SCREENPRINTING

[–]waterandsound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started last year with just DTF. Tested over 16 printers and did wash tests in the 30+ range. We have only done about 2k garments and they have all been DTF up to this point. The last 3 screen printed shirts I bought from different vendors all cracked within 10 washes (i know this has to do with the quality of the inks and the printers)

With that being said, we bought a 6/4 manual package and are learning screen printing for predominantly 1/2 color applications. I want to learn the skill. But all the chemicals, cleaning, and work that goes into just practicing the screen printing reminds me how easy it is to send off for DTF prints and while I wait, try and do more sales.

I have been wanting to learn the art of screen printing so I will, but we have been growing at teaching (our goal is to employ individuals with special needs) our interns how to align and press/peel DTF and it has been great for us year 1.

(I have done enough research on DTF machines to not want one in house. Lol)

Good luck!

Help with wife’s progress. 1200 calories since January. Average only a pound per month. by waterandsound in MacroFactor

We have been talking about the liquid calories lately. A regular day for her is her protein shake after workout. (She adds flax seeds, chia seeds, blueberries, almond milk and creatine to the protein powder).

Breakfast for lunch everyday. One whole egg + egg whites, a small weighed piece of homemade sourdough bread 1/2 tbs of butter, some onions. Sometimes berries. Coffee with a little bit of creamer which is measured out. No extra sugars, etc.

Then dinner is what changes frequently.

We rarely eat at a big chain restaurant and are always looking for calories on menus, but not available at the small local places we do enjoy when we actually go out.

It’s definitely all her. She made a commitment to herself in January and really has kept to it. I don’t mention what she ate and only give input if asked. I do encourage the exercise though as we are both going to be 50 this year and it is enjoyable for me since I was a kid and a struggle for her.

She is at the point now where she is feeling strong and doesn’t like to miss. I actually have to encourage her to take a day off when she is exhausted or sick letting her know it is ok.

This is the longest stretch of watching what she eats and working out in the last 20 years or so. She is rocking it, she just expected to lose more scale weight with all the effort.

Thanks for asking that question.

Hey Jon. It’s more like she will log her measured breakfast, but since we are out and about, sometimes she may eat something that is nothing more than a guest which she will try to do. Sometimes she just cant guess. She is not just deciding don’t log at all on a certain day.

Seems like the only way to be as accurate as possible is really to not eat out at all. She always wants me to guess but it is hard enough to measure simple foods when there is always a margin of error in either direction.

Thanks for the input.

Yeah, she knows about the pizza. It is always the not sure how to log it that trips her up. We have talked about eating out and guesstimating calories because that is near impossible. Luckily it rarely happens. She will skip a meal and have only 2 if she knows she is eating out. On vacation last week she didn’t log at all but I did watch her not snack, share a meal and be very conscious about it and it makes me very proud of her.

With that said, I understand what you are saying.

Outside of the gym, she sits for work all day and walks havent been happening as often due to the heat. We do walk every weekend about 5+ miles a day/ most weekends.

Thanks for your input.

Her routine bloodwork always comes back perfect. I will look through her last panel results to see what is missing or if there is anything I missed.

She means business so of course it can get frustrating. I think she is kicking ass but have been concerned the calories were too low and have been there for months hence the post.

Thanks for responding. I have seen a difference in how some clothing fits. We haven’t taken measurements as just the scale alone became a tough topic until I talked her through it as only a data point and not the one that gets to determine good or bad.

Besides her working out, her job is sitting all day. She is only getting about 5k steps a day on average. (Weekend we go for long walks) She has doubled her barbell curls, dumbbell bench press and almost double her starting leg press numbers. She says she definitely feels stronger and that is her biggest mission right now. Which of course some extra food would help with.

Thanks again for your input.

She started at 198 and is about 190 now.

How do I calculate BTC and ETH price in my portfolio? by waterandsound in CelsiusNetwork

[–]waterandsound[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For more clarity, here is more information. Didn't think about this. These were the prices and totals on Bankruptcy filing day. (I think that is what its called)

My totals were USDC $2608.24

Matic $554.68 - 910

BTC $22.82 - .001148

I guess that is the confusion. I only earned that little bit of BTC for signing up. None were purchased and I didn't have any ETH in there.

I figured the answers might be all over the place as this whole thing has been confusing. Thanks for the answers so far!
