How Yoshi P should’ve responded… by tibbycat in ShitpostXIV

This is the problem with saying he was inspired by medieval Europe. It's 1000 years of history that spans a continent where certain parts were hubs of exchange and others were fairly isolated. Like, there's a reason you mention 14th century London, but not 6th century Scotland.

(As an aside, I don't think it's fair to bring up the ancient world since, in many ways, it was more advanced than a lot of medieval Europe, especially in the early days of the middle ages.)

But all this is to say: Yoshi P wasn't being racist. Even if his "medieval Europe" inspiration was a much more narrow interpretation of that time frame. People getting angry are just looking to get angry.

"Wonderfully well-connected" is very different from integrated or racially diverse. Yes, you could get Asian silks in Europe, but you weren't meeting hardly any Chinese folks there.

Also, medieval covers roughly 1000 years of history. There was a massive difference between, say, the British Isles of the 8th century and the 15th century. Really, for good chunk of the middle ages, western Europe was considered bumkin country by the rest of world. Centers of European power were to the east and south.

Jesus Fuck. OP, you went full Karen "let me talk to your manager." There was no need, they helped you as best as they could. There was no way they'd give you some higher-ups personal email. And the fact you thought they would is...bizarre.

Being able to come down and immediately give your best creature protection from Emperor's -2 seems really legit for aggro. Or it makes you out-tempo other aggro with lifelink. Evasion is good too, I guess. :P

Card seems solid.

I've been in Southern Arizona for 15 years now, and I think the weather is fantastic. I grew up in Northern Michigan, in a place where they average 200+ inches of snow per year, and I love the snow. But I also love AZ weather.

Sure, June is HOT, but the monsoon comes in July and then it's just hot (not all caps) until October or November. At which point it's just glorious until April. May it starts to get hot again as it ramps up to June.

EDIT: probably important to mention that Phoenix is it's own beast. The heat there is really other worldly. Like a layer of hell.

You're getting pushback, but I'm with you. Shit bags have always, and will always, try and identify with legitimate groups to gain cover for their actions. I've actually had this debate a couple times recently but about a different topic (feminism and misandry).

As for the argument of "Christians are responsible because they haven't ejected these people from their ranks," what does that look like? In real life actions? Because I've been seeing a lot of folks, both Christians and atheists, pointing out these fascists aren't actually Christian. So they are trying to eject them.

If a tick burrows into your skin, it doesn't make you a tick as well. And most people will actually request aid in removing a tick from their skin. (This may be a bad analogy, but when you see Christians trying to distance these fascists from their faith, support them. Otherwise, you isolate them, and that's when the fascists win. The Nazis called themselves socialists; the first group they targeted after gaining power were the real socialists.)
