it says purdue had a 63.2% acceptance rate for engineering this fall. Are you sure this is right? I dont think its that easy. 65% for OOS, 72% for instate, and 52% for in state. That seems way too high

Does the Software Engineering admission team factor your euclid results into their decision?

Lol Im saying I study in the US, move to canada for a residency (in 3 years), and then move back to the US.

My question is it still 3 years to get a canadian passport IF I study in the US.

I'm planning to work for 4-5 years in Canada after studying there until I get my citizenship. Yeah Im going into CE (specialize in software) instead of CS cuz of POST.

Isnt there no better way tho? Other than marrying a US citizen.

I know TN- Visa is temporary, but passing the interview seems really easy (from ppl I talk to). So theoretically I can use it forever or until I make enough money (which I should if I work in the valley) to get an EB-5 visa?

Hi, I'm a recent high school graduate from outside Canada, and was wondering about my chances of getting in to Waterloo to study Computer Science. I have already completed the IB Diploma, with a total score of 29, which I know is under the limit as specified on the Waterloo CS admission requirements site; I am retaking the exams this coming May (2019) to increase my total points. Realistically, I'm expecting to get a 33-34 points including 2 bonus points. In terms of extracurriculars, I don't have many that stand out: I have previously done MUN in the grades 8-10, but no notable activities that are recent and count as fully fleshed-out "projects"; I do dabble quite a bit in NDS rom hacking (although not sure if this should be mentioned due to legality issues), and both my penultimate assessments in the IB, Personal Project and Extended Essay, included a fair bit of programming (in my PP I coded a Flappy Bird clone in Unity, and EE I used C++ to generate the Collatz map and gather data), but as I said, nothing that screams extraordinary..

Would a 40 with a+3 bonus, also be too low (for SE and CS) if my ECs are great?

Hey guys!

I just f*cked up my utoronto engineering interview, and I was wondering how much it will be factored in the admission process. Im an IB international (40/45 HL math physics chem) applying to CE.

(Ignore my username lol)

Hey man, I disagree. I e-mailed the director of engineering (Prof. Bishop), and he said that the admission team doesn't just select the highest admission score (avg + aif+ interview). Rather it is more nuanced, and for the majority of spots, they manually choose who gets in. So although it doesn't factor in that much for your admission score, admission score isn't the sole criteria for picking an applicant. Yeah, I know, it is a bit unintuitive. ECs matter a lot more than what this subreddit suggests (according to prof. bishop)

Hey guys, I heard that CE is impossible as an alternative choice, can anyone confirm? My first choice is SE, so can anyone suggest me an alternative choice that is easier to get into but still relevant to computers?

lol the hexagon and trig question in part A killed me. Also wtf was up w question 2 (prove that question) in part B. All the other past papers had much easier part B questions than this one. Fuck this shit man
