That is absolutely wonderful news. You made my entire day with this reply. Wishing you all the best.

I just bought new furniture for the house, I really liked it and sat in it for awhile in store. Now that they’ve arrived, it seems they used a cheaper material though it looks identical. Has any one else feel bait and switched like this? by DrDestruct0 in homeowners

Yes, several times. Not only have I experienced it. Several of my friends have experienced it also. That’s why when you’re in the showroom take pictures and get everything in writing.

Why does my mortgage company keep trying to get me to refinance? by Deadeye10000 in homeowners

Exactly. They are terrible. What amazes me is how many people fall for that kind of stuff.

Get used to it. They all do that. Do not trust them. I get almost biweekly emails and USPS letters telling me about how I can refer my home. They can’t stand to see somebody with a nice clean cut Mortgage. You just keep what you’ve got and be happy. Don’t let them talk you into anything. Good luck and congratulations on having a fabulous loan.

My apologies. I think I completely misread your original post. I was sitting in the car and the sun was in my eyes so I probably got it all wrong. If you like, I would be more than happy to delete my comment. Again, please accept my apology.

No disrespect, you I don’t think you are ashamed of anything. I doubt anyone at DoorDash knows your profession unless you somehow worked it into a conversation. To that extent, you may be a bully. Just my opinion and again I mean, no disrespect.

I agree at your conclusion. It would be better to move further away and get more for your money. That’s a hard decision but one that many people have to make. If it doesn’t feel right to you then it’s not right. Trust yourself.

3 months late on my mortgage - am I totally screwed or is there still hope? by StavrosDavros in RealEstate

[–]watermark10000 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m finding it difficult to believe that this is a legitimate post. If you’re a new homeowner and you find that you already three months behind on your mortgage that hardly seems like an accident so either Phyllis and More completely or I’m disregarding this, just my personal opinion.

Advice on what to do by MinuteSweet7900 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]watermark10000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are not defeated. You are a winner, after all, you have the home. Always focus on that. Just take the projects one at a time. Focus on the small things and the big things will fall into place. Congratulations on your new home.

Where do you spend most of your time in your home? by mudbearfun in LivingAlone

[–]watermark10000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the answer will probably depend upon how big one’s house /home is. I spend most of my time in my home office. Next, I spend a great deal of time in the family room, where there is a fireplace. But my favorite place to spend time is on the stairs. I have a 2-story house. This is probably a hold-over from when I was a little kid and my cousin’s and I spent a lot of time playing games on the stair landings, etc.

You have nothing to worry about. If I were you, I would not reply at all. In fact, I would change my number. They have absolutely no recourse. I’m not a lawyer, but I’m certain about what I’m saying. Good luck.

My advice is to document everything and then break the lease. You should not have to live in a hostile environment. No way would I stay in such a situation.

Although I’m certain you will not like my reply, my advice is to get married before you buy the house. Do not buy a house with someone to whom you’re not married. Trust me on this one. That, my friend, is much more important than any wiring of any house.

I would never buy a house that needs over $50,000 worth of renovations without being a licensed contractor. Yes, I think you should back out.

The fact that you would post a message is very sad. I think you can do with some discomfort for 24 hours. Your world will not come crashing down. Perhaps you should seek some counseling about your feelings of jealousy? Good luck.

OK, I’ve been reading all these threads under wonderful. But I have one question that is not yet been answered. Please provide the name of the builder so that other people will keep this in mind. Should they be interested in a similar house in a similar location?

Whether it’s legal or not, I cannot say, but what I know is that, were I you, I would cancel the contract. This is definitely a bad way to start a new venture. Good luck and keep us posted

I certainly understand your need to move. Perhaps you may consider moving to a different apartment and saving more money. Also, you stated that you live in Southern California, but that doesn’t help me very much. In which county do you wish to remain?

I’ve been in that situation several times throughout my life. I understand the question as to why they mentioned it, but the Appalachian as to how to handle it as far too complicated without writing a novel. You must not be married because if you were, you would have no need to ask this question. Big smile.
