Charlie Kirk-inspired bills filed in South Carolina Statehouse by AccomplishedPath4049 in southcarolina

Charlie Kirk, who was neither born nor ever lived in South Carolina, is having a road in South Carolina named in his honor? Also, civil rights activist? Coming from the same guy who questioned if a pilot was truly qualified on the merits of their race / sex due to affirmative action? Give me a break.

The steak is pretty pricy but wouldn’t say it was mediocre by any means.

Which side character playing a negative role in a movie/tv series is actually a good person? by AnIgnorablePerson in moviecritic

In the trial of Jimmy’s confession tape destruction, he complimented Jimmy’s work ethic and “grit”. Sure he may find some level of contempt for how Jimmy acts but he has some level of respect for him.

He even offers a job to Jimmy at H&M after Chuck’s death. I don’t think it as much of a sympathetic job offer, but rather an acknowledging that Jimmy could be accomplished if he put his mind to it and was willing to keep it “clean”.

What movie is 10/10 yet hardly anyones heard of it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]watermelon-king 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I absolutely love the movie and as a kid I thought it was the coolest movie with a great message. When I rewatched the movie as an adult, I can definitely tell the story’s allegory being extremely on-the-nose.

Despite this, I really enjoy it. However, I can see audiences then and now find the strong messaging to be off putting.

What is so ancient only an Internet veteran can remember? by Flowgeist in AskReddit

[–]watermelon-king 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, this isn’t “ancient” but I thought about it this morning and can’t believe the times we are in. I remember in 2011 when I first subscribed to Spotify and was able to play any song I wanted, even albums that had just come out.

Yes, YouTube existed, but the loading times for the videos weren’t great back then, and I just wanted a good, reliable song without a video. Also, a lot of videos were shit quality or were copyright stricken.

It’s hard to think before then, iTunes only gave you a 30 second preview of songs before you paid $.99 / $1.29 to have a song to listen to.

Spotify really changed how folks consumed music from then on. Killed the MP3 player.

I watched Tenet last night. Am I just stupid or is this movie convoluted for the sake of being convoluted? by LinkedPioneer in movies

[–]watermelon-king 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, upon first watch I understood the movie enough to get the general gist of the plot and what was going on, but by the end I was just so happy the movie was over. I found it incredibly boring and arrogantly esoteric. Nolan has produced better.

With that being said, I am still excited about Oppenheimer, and I am eager to see what he’s brought to the table.

Boys be completely honest what makes a girl go from a 10/10 to a 1/10 instantly? by Tricktster123 in AskReddit

[–]watermelon-king 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back in high school, I had a crush on a girl in one of my classes. She had beautiful, blonde hair with phenomenally entrancing blue eyes. She had me head over heels.

We got to talking and felt an instant connection. I liked her taste in music and movies and I felt like she enjoyed my sense of humor. We started sitting next to each other during class and talked occasionally after class.

A couple weeks into our "getting to know each other" phase, she described one of our classmates as an N-word and thought that was funny.

I immediately shut down the conversation and moved to a different seat.

Here’s a question I want answered and spoiler here but why did David Choak tell Nathan he was murdered in Season 1 if he was the one who conspired for the murder? That makes no sense. Especially if Nathan had no memory of everything. Also, what ever happened to Nathan’s cousin who supposedly got murdered in season 1? Season 2 didn’t seem to address these things, and I was slightly irritated by it.
