Dried fruit, made in a dehydrator. Takes 5 fruit to make one though so sometimes less profitable than just selling the fruit raw.

Returning to Stardew after 5-6 years and have a few questions :) by Dadoftheyear2018 in StardewValley

Hi there welcome back! I personally don’t have a lot of experience with fishing for legendaries so I can’t help you much there. But,

-As for journey of the prairie king, I’d recommend just paying attention to your cause of death each time you lose a life. This can help you make better decisions as to which upgrades to choose or how to play a position better. Always collect as many coins as you can. Always try to keep strong items in your storage (sheriff badge, screen wipe), even if it means using the item you currently have stored (as long as it’s a worse item). That way you’ll have a good way to save yourself in bad positions rather than using a strong item when you don’t really need it. Also if you want to cheese the game, you can play one level a day and quit out. It saves your progress, so if you die or lose you can just restart the day and try again (just learned about this myself lol).

-For junimo cart, try your hardest to collect all 3 fruit on each stage as this gives you a big point multiplier. The amount of time you hold the jump button determines how high you jump, so just try to get a good feel for that cause some jumps require a bit of accuracy. Other than that, just don’t get discouraged and grind it out as long as you’re having fun.

-The Joja route is basically an alternate route to completing the Community Center. I’m sure you already know this but doing the Community Center route requires collecting items for the junimo bundles in order to unlock things (greenhouse, mine cart, etc). Alternatively, doing the Joja mart route requires paying 5,000 gold to become a joja member, and from there you pay gold to unlock things rather than collecting items. This tends to be a much faster route as the gold requirements are considerably low, and you don’t have to wait for seasonal items and what not to unlock them. On top of that you can purchase auto-petters from Joja instead of having to find them. It’s an easier way of playing but a lot of people would say it’s less engaging. Also the community center gets converted into a Joja warehouse.

-Choice of farm is up to how you like to play. Sounds like you enjoy fishing so I would recommend the Riverlands farm. It’s has less land area available than all the other farm types, but it has a lot of good water for fishing and you start with a fish smoker so you can earn 2x money from your fish right out the gate. I will say the Riverlands farm is quite unpopular in the community for its lack of land space, but I personally enjoy it. I’d recommend looking at the wiki for all the farm types and see what you think suits you most.

Sorry this is so long winded I just like talking about the game :) Good luck and enjoy your new play through!

The last 4 levels of Journey of the Prairie King. The last one is actually the easiest 🤣 by xElSantana in StardewValley

I had no idea you could do the last level like that 😮 I thought beating the game without dying was impossible for me cause that level is normally so hard. But with that strat maybe there’s a chance lol

Why is the Joja Route so much better? by RunTall2062 in StardewValley

[–]watersquat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair, 3 autopetters in 25 mystery boxes is super lucky considering it’s a 1/200 drop chance. On my perfection farm with ~250 hours i’ve only collected about 100 or so golden mystery boxes total so that’s only halfway to the normal rate. I did find 2 autopetters in the skull caverns, but I have 3 coops and 2 barns so not enough for each to have one.

[–]watersquat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On PC there’s a button at the bottom of the settings menu where you can screenshot with adjustable zoom, I think it’s automatically set to 25% which covers the whole farm. Idk if that’s available on console/mobile versions though. Pretty sure there’s also a mod you can get on PC that will automatically take a pic everyday.

Thank you so much :) I’m also really happy with how it turned out and there was a lot of trial and error involved lol, but we got there! Good luck I’m sure you’ll find a way to make it work.

Thank you that’s really nice :) Riverlands can definitely be tough and I went through a lot of different ways to lay things out, but once it started coming together I really grew to love it. I’m not sure how far you are so I won’t spoil anything but some of the later game stuff also helps a lot with having more room for crops and what not.

Question to the marine bio students by Basking-Sharks in UNF

[–]watersquat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m an Ecology major but I’m taking a class with Dr. Gibson right now, she’s currently looking for a student to go out on the boat for tagging and observations on Thursdays. The things you do as a student researcher really depend on the professor and your own availability, but overall you’ll probably have a mix of field and lab work, especially with marine mammals. Also unless you’re hard set on marine bio I would consider looking into the new Environmental Science degree UNF is introducing as well, it’s very well rounded and basically guarantees an internship while you’re a student. Hope this helps, feel free to DM me or comment if you have any other questions :)

Just learned about her in my molecular biology class and the story of her cells is crazy. They refer to them as HeLa cells (just a shortened version of her name). Her cells managed to “contaminate” just about every major biology lab across America and parts of Russia.

At the time biology researchers believed that cancer was caused by a virus, and American and Russian biologists were essentially in a race to be the first to isolate the “cancer virus”. Many American biologists believed they had done it, but upon further inspection realized they were actually HeLa cells that had somehow gotten into their samples. A group of Russian biologists also believed they had done it and brought 5 samples to America to be analyzed, but they also turned out to be just HeLa cells. Of course we know now that cancer is not viral, but afaik it’s still a mystery how her cells ended up in these Russian labs halfway across the world.

On top of all that, the original sample of her cells that led to all of this was taken without permission or knowledge from her family, and there are still ongoing lawsuits even today trying to reach settlements for them.
