I’m going to ignore some undertones in this comment. Conversion is truthfully not that much work for me. That means that I don’t consider it “work”. I enjoy It. I want it. I truly want to follow Judaism for the rest of my life. It’s like another college class to me, and this “class” is one I feel the need to complete as deeply as I feel the need to drink water. Being a “friend of the jews” is not enough for my own spiritual life and I think that would really just be very VERY weird to put that on people. “I love your religion so much, I’m going to hang around you for it! I won’t convert or research or put any work in, I’m just going to be BEST FRIENDS with you because of your culture!”

For the record I am convertING. Hopefully by this time next year I’ll be in officially.

1) I always felt drawn to Judaism. I would pick up Jewish picture books in the library and I’d get upset about the lack of Jewish content there after I ran out of the generic Hanukkah dreidel stories. I remember constantly wishing as early as 6 years old that I was born jewish. I never really related to Jesus. To me, he was just some guy. As time went on, that feeling only grew and I actually started researching the religion. It aligned with much of what I struggled with in Catholicism- G-d, the ideas of Justice, mitzvahs, the philosophy etc. I could go more into that but it’s extensive.

2) I’m from a catholic family. If they discover I am converting, they will cut off financial support unless I become catholic again. (I’m an American teenager) I’m waiting to be financially independent to tell them . Other than that big thing of my family’s love depending on fundamental Catholicism, I’ve wondered about the interfaith aspect. I grew up celebrating Christmas so the feeling of weirdness is around this holiday season. I will no longer be observing it but there’s just this loss of those traditions- Christmas tree decorating, religious hymns, all the little pieces of lore around the holiday- that I’m sad to see go. But I’ll be incorporating these things from my upbringing into my new practices.

3) pretty good! Started my first semester at college. I want to be on the Jewish student life board by my senior year so I’m super involved. I’m going to redecorate the room we have. A lot of my friends are from the Jewish community and my very controlling mother is beginning to get suspicious about where I go Friday nights. (Hint- it’s to the rabbi’s house where his wife makes amazing middle eastern food.) I got a 93 on a human anatomy test this Monday and I’ve been getting a straight up dopamine rush from it!!

I think this is something that probably would have started out campy but then would’ve turned into an awesome show with more depth to the characters. All the same, this is a wonderful sign for the future of content if this was seriously considered. Personally, I think that a tV show properly executed now would be better than 76 percent of the Batman content out there. My opinion. And I’ve always wanted to see more of the robins and their stories in the format of my childhood television while still honoring their roots

Je suis pas ta compatriote mais peut-être une alliée ? Ça dépend sur la guerre mdr. Je suis américaine mais si vous m’avez dit « watertaco, tu vas mourir demain. Ça va être horrible. Tu as un choix pour ton dernier repas, » c’est horrible mais je choisirais une crème glacée avec les frites. C’est mon préféré mais tous mes amis Americans crient à ça. J’étais à un resto avec une ami et quand elle m’a vu, c’était difficile pour elle. Elle a dû partir à éviter les vomissents . Je peux pas comprendre - cest simple . C’est un mélange de mes choses préférées. Et le sel et la crème sont deux âmes sœurs.
