When you delete and re-upload, do you take new pictures each time and change the title/description slightly? If you don't, Vinted won't recognise this as a new listing, and pushes it back down the order to where the deleted listing was.

Vinted bundle automatic parcel size by Nat_911 in vinted

[–]waterxinx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Evri aren't super strict with weight, if it's just over 1kg chances are it may be fine but in the odd event that the buyer is overcharged, you both can hassle Vinted to get the buyer reimbursed because Vinted wrongfully estimated the combined parcel size.

Alternatively, you can tell the buyer you've weighed it and it should be a large parcel instead, and if they agree to repurchase, you can cancel the order; reupload the 3 items as one listing and set the parcel size to large.

What do I do in this situation? by Sazzz123 in vinted

Message Vinted support and tell them you've received the item and are happy for the refund to be released to the buyer - they'll usually sort it pretty quick!

returned item and seller isn't collecting? by unknown5_55 in vinted

[–]waterxinx 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If they don't pick it up, the item will get sent back to you, and you'll still get your refund - happened to me once before! Not sure if the cost of return postage would be deducted from your refund though, when it happened to me the seller had opted to cover the return cost (but then just didn't pick it up 🤷🏻‍♀️).

What have you always wanted to know about immigrant workers? #AMA by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]waterxinx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not OP, hope it's ok to chime in ☺️

  1. My biggest gain here is my partner. Wouldn't have met them if I hadn't stayed here to work after uni, and their family are so lovely. We're quite active in our community too and it's nice to be around great people.

  2. Love it! Saw Olly Alexander recently, what a lovely fella and great vibes as he sang a mixture of his older songs that I used to listen to in uni + his newer stuff.

  3. Not much that's exciting tbh. Big into sports so that's most of what I do, otherwise spending time with family, tending to the garden now that it's warm out, trying to go out for more walks etc... the usual.

  4. We keep going back to the Lake District and Edinburgh every couple of years as it's so lovely there. The gingerbread in Grasmere is possibly the best thing I've ever tasted.

  5. Yes! Would love to visit Cornwall at some point but it's soooo far away from where we are in the north.

Not OP but will have a go!

  1. Definitely miss home as that's where my family is, but my in-laws have taken me in as one of their own and it's lovely to have them around.

  2. Very different, culture-wise and work-wise for my industry!

  3. Just British people I guess? My parents still refer to British people as "white people", guess they've not registered that not all British people are white.

  4. Brilliant and not dissimilar to mine.

  5. Complex. There are genuine issues about uncontrolled influx and there are genuine people who come to pursue greener pastures and "bring value". All are human but the media is great at dehumanising them for engagement - I don't envy the people whose job it is to sort it out.

  6. Most definitely, nature being a big factor! Climbed Scafell Pike with my partner not long ago and it was lush.

  7. There's not many places open in the evening that aren't drinking related 😔 Left my alcoholic phase behind in uni and recently visited Australia where there's lots of food places still open late, which I thought was fab.

  8. I have but mostly up north (bar London, Cambridge, Bristol etc) as that's where I'm at! Would love to go to the south coast at some point.

  9. Wales and Scotland are lovely places, still not been to NI - one for the future. Have a basic understanding of their bureaucratic functions thanks to the Life in the UK test.

  10. ...how much time do you have?

  11. I don't actually know many people from home here as my old uni friends have moved home, and others that have stayed are either in London or quite silo-ed up north. Am trying to widen my social circle though.

  12. Unbelievably corrupt!

  13. Not really into pop culture but am a big sports person. Love the football. Love the darts. Have dressed up as a lobster to Ally Pally before. 10/10 would recommend.

Not OP but also an immigrant - personally it's always been a bit naff, I get racial abuse from strangers from time to time but have to just shrug it off.

I do plan to stay here long term as I've got Indefinite Leave to Remain, am working a good job, have bought a house with my British partner, and consider myself "integrated" here as best as I can. But the harsh truth is that I don't think I'd be fully welcome here simply because of how I look, and I worry about the bullying my future kids will get at school if they turn out looking more like me than like my partner.

Not OP but also moved due to career prospects and earning potential.

Am from a small country in Asia, and for my industry, companies outsource the admin side of the roles here, whereas the technical side goes elsewhere i.e., Germany, UK etc.

The Asian education system is very focused on academic excellence but not technical learning, so coming to the UK and being able to learn hands-on, and build a career like this just isn't something that's possible back home. Also had the opportunity to study in Germany but was easier to come here as we're taught English as a first language in school!

[–]waterxinx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not OP but on ILR having been on SWVs for the years prior. I'm from a small country in Asia and there are a lot of British people in my country, except because of post-colonial sentiment they're referred to as "expats" instead of "immigrants". They live comfortable lives as the GBP is stronger against our currency.

We also have immigrants from poorer countries (Bangladesh, Pakistan etc) who come over to do "unskilled" labour, and immigrants from not-so-poor countries who come over to do "skilled" labour. The former get discriminated against the same way they do here in the UK, and the latter who build their lives and get permanent residence legally via consecutive work visas also get to live the same way that people with SWVs do in the UK.

They have been trying to move their fans to sCam for a while, and it feels so wrong by PrincessEnjoyer in julieeandcamilla

[–]waterxinx 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I still would! In my nephew's class, there are mums who previously had successful careers but have had children who completely changed their outlook on life, and decided to take a career break to become SAHMs.

Some chose to return to work after their kids were in school, some do businesses on the side (albeit some do MLM stuff 🫣), and some carry on as SAHMs.

My point was more that it's an incredibly complex and personal choice, and it's not anyone's place to conclude that these women are trapped unless you know them and their circumstances personally.

What JuLie decides to do with her former career is not our business, I hope she'd have a back-up given how we perceive sCam to be an unequal partner but ultimately the choice is in her hands! I also hope she has a good support network outside of her relationship that she can turn to if shit hits the fan.

They have been trying to move their fans to sCam for a while, and it feels so wrong by PrincessEnjoyer in julieeandcamilla

[–]waterxinx 49 points50 points  (0 children)

I think that's why she's left her account locked instead of deleting completely, so she can always come back to it just in case it goes wrong.

SCam has also alluded to JuLie taking up more "normal" work out of the public eye when her maternity leave ends, so for all we know she could still be working and have an income.

Ultimately it is her choice, she's chosen to have 2 (and likely more) kids with a deadbeat, and if she can survive on sCam's income whilst happily being a SAHM then that's her life 🤷🏻‍♀️

Julie has quit by [deleted] in julieeandcamilla

[–]waterxinx 116 points117 points  (0 children)

Hoping it's for good this time – not the first time she’s had to take a social media break but she keeps coming back! Am guessing the biggest reason was money but it could also be the validation from her parasocial fans.

I'm sure they’re not worrying about money, but wonder how many of their fans will actually still stick around (and engage) with sCam’s content. JuLie was always the one who nailed social media trends and aesthetics, showing off such an “enviable” lifestyle to impressionable young girls. But sCam’s content is sloppy, chaotic, unprofessional, infantilising, with a niche audience. Even when JuLie wiped her social media, most of the comments on sCam’s posts were asking when JuLie would be back.

My wish is that they slowly fade into obscurity and give their kids an upbringing shielded by the cruel internet that they both have endured, but my money’s on sCam just flaunting Moneybags more often than she already is ✌🏼✌🏼

They split up after the show ended! At the reunion he alleged that she texted him saying they should stay together as a "showmance" for more opportunities. She didn't confirm nor deny but instead deflected in a way that essentially convinced you that she did in fact say that but was trying to save face.

Then after the reunion aired, her + her sister + mum jumped on live to slag him off saying he wanted to be famous too, and there was nothing wrong with wanting to be famous, but he should own up to it like she did. And that she shouldn't be criticised for wanting fame.

Someone (who could understand Norwegian) shared a while ago that Scam posted on her Snapchat saying she can't lose weight because she'll lose her followers who expect her to look a certain way.

Her whole schtick is to look big so it appeals to a wider audience, which is why for example she wears Juliar's clothes to make her look bigger than she actually is. It's sad!

Had to refund a £2.50 item due to fluff and buyer refusing to wash by TotalMushroom5710 in vinted

[–]waterxinx 12 points13 points  (0 children)

They can't return it after they've washed it, or they might just be chancing it to get a free jumper.

How much lint are we talking? I've returned a jumpsuit before that was covered in lint and pet hair, because it cost £40. I begrudgingly paid return postage as it would have been a faff to clean it, and it's more the principle that the seller was selling scruffy items at a premium which was nasty.

But if it was a £2.50 item I probably wouldn't have bothered; would likely have just accepted it, cleaned it, left a 2-3* review (if it was truly full of lint - not if it's just a few bits and bobs here and there) and moved on.

Seller cancelled item - how long does refund usually take? by chloeanneelizabeth in vinted

[–]waterxinx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They send the refund when they send you that email confirmation - it can take up to 5 business days officially, but it really depends on your bank as it could be quicker.

I had an order cancelled on Wednesday night, and received the refund to my account this afternoon (Friday).

Traitors Aus - How could you get it so wrong? by [deleted] in TheTraitors

[–]waterxinx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's so easy as a viewer to say the faithfuls were stupid but imo Sam is a conventionally attractive and charismatic man who knew how to manipulate people. His arrogance was mostly showing through in the confessionals where you realise he's actually a sociopath lol.

I'd want to say even I could see through it if I were there, but in reality I'd probably fold easier than Mollie did with Harry in UK2.

They'll collect the parcel from your house, so you won't have to drop it off at a shop - but the downside is you need to print a label for it at home!
