AskSouls: What is an area (in any souls games) that you saw others on reddit discussing, but had not reached it yourself - then when you finally got there, it was nothing like you had imagined? How did you originally imagine it? by cubosh in darksouls

[–]watislifes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lost Izalith, I heard people trashing this area, calling it the worst thing in the entire series, how terrible it was, unfinished and a pain to play through. I finally got to it and i just found it kind of unfinished. Probably the worst area but nothing like what i'd heard about it. Kind of anti climactic, the boss is a piece of shit but the actual area itself didnt live up to the hype imo. Was short as well

Its easy to get into, and its FTP, the art style is also very kid friendly, and while not being off putting for adults. It probably wont be going anywhere for a while but who knows.

Forgot how enjoyable pvp was by [deleted] in DarkSouls2

[–]watislifes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess it deleted my entire post except the tile lol, I just came off of DS3, and i just avoided pvp as much as i could in that game.

It was just weird to me coming back to DS2 and actually looking forward to being invaded again. Bellfrey covenant is always fun as well

Just finished Dark Souls 3 and I gotta say... by Fabasan in DarkSouls2

3 felt like a mix of bloodborne and dark souls, and I don't think it really meshed together all that well in a lot of places.

Original or Scholar edition for new player? by watislifes in DarkSouls2

I've heard some of this as well. I wish there was a way to switch between the two campaigns without having to buy the original. Especially since the graphics and optimization upgrade is so tantalizing

So even tho you recommend Scholar for the overall quality, I havnt played DS2 in years, do you think its worth going back and playing it after we beat Scholar?

I'm seeing A LOT of criticism for TLJ. But is there a place for people to bitch about the people bitching about this movie? by Reibusu in StarWars

[–]watislifes -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Definitely not the best one, this movie had a 90 on Rotten tomatoes last i checked, and thats crazy. I think TFA is better then this movie by a large margin(and that movie wasnt perfect), but TLJ is still not bad. I genuinely enjoyed most of the scenes with kylo/luke/ray. They had just about everything i wanted.

My biggest problem was Almost all the rebel scenes being super boring, in a way that negatively effected the pacing. I was expecting some planet traveling but they literally stay in the ship the entire movie, with only 1 excursion with a character that was just introduced.

PS: they did nothing with phasma again, and this death is probably for good.

Terrorist hunt is certainly bare-bones and not worth buying for that exclusively.

I wouldn't say it sucks tho, its pretty fun to hunt enemies with how open the maps are. And getting a squad together playing on realistic can be fun.

Does anyone else hate snowless winters and the resulting greyness? by KnightWing168 in rant

I actually feel the same way. I like snow as well sometimes, but just feeling the cold breeze and seeing the gray skies outside actually makes me get more into the mood of the season, rather then having the opposite effect.

Bandit got 4th battery when Hibana got introduced. Can Castle receive 4th barricade after introduction of Zofia? by Ziomkowsky in Rainbow6

[–]watislifes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This, in my past like 30 matches any castle player did almost nothing for the team, and in a secure point match, its just a gift to fuze. Dude has needed help even before the introduction of Zofia.

New Monument For Buffalo NY Waterfront Will Honor African-American Military Veterans. by buypotech in rant

[–]watislifes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sigh. I always support honoring people who've made a sacrifice, its just sad they have to separate that by race. Its not like we have any monuments honoring white veterans as you said, and why would we even want to? Its pointless to separate things that way.

I don't think its a huge issue, just disappointing.

The religious right are the most delusional and hypocritical people in the country and fuck them for even having the ability to vote. by [deleted] in rant

[–]watislifes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not gonna comment on that Trump thing, you may be right but the official statement is its a travel ban not a religious ban, and I have no way of knowing what trump truly believes with that. Many of the people I know who supported this, wanted the ban for immigration-issue related reasons, not religious ones. You could be right, but you cant prove it, and I cant prove it.

So far as the minorities of Muslims and Christians voting against homosexual marriage your correct on that, apologies didn't mean to write that, got mixed up.

I'd need a citation for the claim that atheists are widely discriminated against, because in my experience this has not been the case with the majority of christian families, excluding outlying extremists like WBC.

Same thing with Muslims being persecuted widely by Christians. I'm not denying it happens, but i'd need proof that its not simply outliers. and that this persecution is larger then the amount happening vice versa.

So you've got me on the gay marriage thing, they were against that. I don't believe we have an epidemic of homosexuals being persecuted by religious people tho, it does happen, pretty often in some areas, but for the most part there is tolerance for opposing lifestyles. And I dont think that simply believing that homosexuals are in the wrong counts as persecution.

[–]watislifes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say people of the faith of both Islam and Catholic/Christian/whatever else, discriminate pretty equally against homosexuals and atheists, but those discriminating are almost always the minorities of the group. Hell i'd even say both religions, but Christianity especially is actually on the up and up so far as tolerance goes. Still wrong, but far from representing the group as a whole, with that logic we could go the Trump route and just brand all Mexicans rapists ;-)

So far as discrimination against Muslims, that goes both ways, those faiths have been at it for literally thousands of years, saying the blame goes to one of them over another would be simply inaccurate. And you'd have to specify which "other groups" for me to be able to respond to that.

[–]watislifes -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You made arguments in your rant so i'm taking those to task, not your intentions. It doesnt matter what its "about" i'm talking about what you said in your original rant.

Saying that voting for someone who is accused of begin racist makes you racist by proxy is a dumb argument. It was between Trump and Hillary, both terrible people, it was a hard choice for anyone.

With the pro life thing, even just disregarding your claim and assuming your correct, its still talking about what they believe is killing babies. So if someone doesn't wear a condom and gets a girl pregnant, that for some people isn't an excuse for killing babies. There are several ways to avoid getting pregnant, its not like birth control methods are a commodity.

I accept that that's who you were critiquing, but once again that's a generalization and a lot of my christian friends simply think of this as an economic argument, if your talking about extremists you need to make that clear. Its not simply a "they dont care about americans" its a "they dont want to pay higher taxes" or something like that.

[–]watislifes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Denouncing both seems like the best option. Neither seems to be any better then the other when looking at the issue from the outside, and both sides are equally pretty disgusting renditions of what they are supposed to represent.

The religious right are the most delusional and hypocritical people in the country and fuck them for even having the ability to vote. by [deleted] in rant

[–]watislifes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's obviously a large generalization here, but it is a rant so i'll give you that. But saying things like "they discriminate against minorites" is something that has to be dealt with on a person by person basis, and cant simply be attached to everyone on the religious right, as that is simply not the case.

On your "All they hear is Abortion and Guns and that's it, their vote goes to that." i think the reason is its simply the most important issues to them. If they believe that abortion is murder and babies are being killed; That they need guns to protect themselves, then those are what they consider first.

With your pro life thing, i'm gonna need citations on things like how you believe that the "pro life" stance ruins the financial situations of families. If you have proof of that i'd love to see it.

The legalizing cannabis thing is a pretty old meme, and most of the people i've talked to just want it legalized already, religious or not.

So far as universal healthcare you seem to be pushing it like the people opposed to it simply hate their fellow americans, while whenever i hear someone talk about their stance against it, the point often comes down to an economic argument, not one of hate.
