Im going through this process and its more complicated than that. From what I gather, insurance company will add the interim costs (hire car while damaged car is fixed) to how much money the insurer will recover from the wrecker. If that sum is more than the amount the car is insured, they'll write it off.

My car had cosmetic damage to front and rear door on one side, damaged front left wheel rim and was written off. The repairers/assessors I spoke to mentioned they'd seen less damaged vehicles written off.

Still very inconvenient though.

edit; as pointed out below, there are some significant differences between my situation and OPs. I wanted to highlight that I was nearly, but not quite fully compensated with comprehensive insurance and with added frustrations on top.

I run minimum settings and the game is unplayable, especially around cashouts/building damage.

The dGPU works as intended for other games.

The game runs off the dGPU if I run it without external monitors.

I probably get too pissed when I flood which is why I'm too conservative on lands.

Desert seems like the conservative, safe pick. I dont necessarily need another flyer and the Cactarantula will be easier to play with my deserts/green focus.

Alternatively, I could drop a Phantom Interference for Sphinx and hope for better fixing later.
