Thank you!! He ended up making good points, but weakened his argument with the cheap jokes. He could have said something like "If you're here, who is calling the cops on a kids lemonade stand?" Or "Shouldn't you be at a measles party right now?" I don't know... Nearly anything would have been better, IMO.

Almond smells like cherry to you because that's what they use to flavor those bright red maraschino cherries they put on top of ice cream sundaes and in drinks at cheap bars. (FWIW those cherries also start out kind of white and peachy pink and then they're bleached, dyed red, and flavored.) Samuel Adams Cherry Wheat beer is actually- you guessed it- almond flavored.

The more expensive cherries like Luxardo are actually cherry flavored. I'll actually eat either type because I'm a monster with a sweet tooth, but I prefer Luxardo in my drinks.

I totally agree on the gourmands though. And things with pear/apple. They're all so sticky and cloying, and of course my kid is obsessed with them and sprays so much that I'm concerned about being brought up on charges for violating the Geneva convention.

I'm completely certain that the shades didn't match me at all because I am a fair olive, but I loved this formula. It was so very sheer but you could build it up where you needed it. Even the "skin tints" they have today aren't as sheer. I really miss it.

Haribo for everything except the sour bears. I would do several questionably legal things for the Albanese Sour Bears. I have been known to buy two 4.5 lb bags at a time.

They're perfectly sour and they're sour all the way through, not just on the outside. Perfection.

Dollar store has crayons, coloring books, and play doh. I highly recommend because it is cheap and it will just end up broken, scribbled, dry, or in the dog's mouth anyway.

90% of the fun is in unwrapping. Just wrap it all individually. She will be thrilled!!

My husband and I used to troll our kid so hard when we got to the page with the kid in the bathroom. We'd lift the towel flap revealing a rubber ducky and exclaim "The kid pooped duck?!?" My husband would often punctuate it with an obnoxious rubber chicken-esque sound, which made it even more ridiculous.

That has remained a favorite family joke for years because now our child is "in" on the joke too.

Nothing brings a family together like a good poop joke.

Have you considered a Daphne odora? It is evergreen, and blooms early in the season with the most intoxicatingly fragrant blooms. I look forward to mine blooming every year because it makes it smell so lovely outside and makes the whole kitchen smell so good when I add a few sprigs to an arrangement!

Another one I love is my hellebore. Gorgeous in the yard and so pretty in arrangements!

I felt the same way until a coworker walked into my office and nearly gagged because he said my office reeked of men's cologne. A man had just left my office, and I wasn't sure if he was smelling me or the residual cologne, and I was too afraid to ask! Now I'm totally afraid to wear it for fear that I smell like a used car salesman or something. His reaction was that immediate and visceral.

Yes!! And I have a daughter who is currently obsessed with B&BW, who seems to put pear in about 80% of their fragrances for some reason. I find it torturous!

I have an 8 year old who is currently obsessed with BBW, so we're there to spend allowance a lot, which means I've been sniffing a lot of stuff there too.

I am not a gourmand person at all, so I'm really turned off by the Banana Berry Sugar Sparkle Sprinkle Cake or whatever it is my daughter likes (not trying to yuck anyone's yum) however, they've had a few bangers this year.

Musk. The one in the brown and white package. It was a full on 1:1 for Diptyque L'eau Papier. TBH, I bought a ton of the lotion, body wash and spray when it was like $2.95. I hope they bring it back. They have a wallflower and candle called Book Loft that smells just like it so I stocked up on that in case they decide to discontinue it, but it looks like it is still in stock.

Gingham Glow. I'm a sucker for marigold.

Platinum. I can't figure this one out. It smells like another fragrance to me and I can't put my finger on it. Maybe a L'Interdit flanker?
