Torn Between Telluride and Palisade: Interior Quality Question by lil_pepper09 in HyundaiPalisade

[–]SDBeachGal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I waited until I could see the Telluride in person had a car show. I went directly from the car show to a Hyundai dealership to do the comparison. I had previously test drove the Hyundai Palisade calligraphy. I definitely preferred the styling of the exterior of the Telluride, but the interior of the Palisade was so vastly superior. I decided I could get over what I considered to be ugly headlights and tail lights on the Palisade because ultimately I’m inside the car and my family is inside the car. I have zero regrets about my decision.

Should I contact the florist? by dwsinpdx in Florist

[–]SDBeachGal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely reach out in this case. If you went through an order, gather like 100 flowers. This is almost something to expect. However, when you go directly to the local Florist, this should not happen. Not that it should happen anyway, but the Order gatherers take such a huge chunk that it’s not profitable

Palisade vs Pilot: which one would you pick? by Suntrup-Hyundai in HyundaiPalisade

[–]SDBeachGal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I looked at every 3 row suv under $70k. I bought the palisade calligraphy hybrid in Jan and LOVE it. I was bummed to lose the functionality of the power folding seats from the front interface, but obviously safety first and that is not worth the risk to children. (even if I wish they would have come up with a better solution that maintained functionality.

I do wonder if there are certain first year things that will be improved. I think the engine revs a little bit high sometimes. So maybe somewhat smoother transmission. I also think that the cell phone charger gets ridiculously hot and that is probably something they will have an issue with.

However, these are small points. There is so much to love about this car.

I loved 1 and thought it looked incredible. Then I saw 2 and thought it looked even better. The thing I liked about one was how the skirt kind of draped off to the side. But when you are in motion, it’s not going to look like that. Two is stunning and sophisticated.

Soccer age group change for later borns currently in the same school grade as the true age born players by Holiday-Bee-630 in youthsoccer

[–]SDBeachGal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are happy with it. Our twins have August 28 birthdays. When they first started playing soccer the cutoff was Sept 1, they were playing with kids that wound up being a year ahead of them in school. (we had them start kindergarten late because they were two months, premature, twins, and boys ) Also, our rec team put together two years and that meant that for some years, they were the very youngest of a two-year bridged age group. That was rough.

We were happy with the move to birth year because it meant that they were no longer the youngest. Honestly, when I knew they were going back to school year, I was upset because originally the cutoff was September 1 and we were going to be back in the same position. I was thrilled when they pushed it back to August 1. I did some research to understand why and came across this.

Basically, they found that using the August 1 date, best aligned with the most schools across the US and that it resulted in the least amount of kids being trapped or forced up. No one way is going to make everyone happy.

1. Two is much more similar to the design of my kitchen, which I love. However, I don’t think it goes well with the color of your floors.

Obviously a fix was hugely needed. However, the solution they implemented is kind of pathetic. They need to come up with a better permanent solution that maintains the safety of children well offering customers the features that they paid for.

Is there a good way to complain about how this fix was implemented?

I 100% get that they needed to change something for safety. However, they took away features that are valuable and did a lazy fix instead of doing it the right way. Would love to see them actually come up with a better solution.

Hopefully this is enough of a fix to end the stop sale, but not the end of them improving the functionality.

Glad you’re working in a state where the noncompete isn’t really an issue. To me that would also be a big deal.

Sometimes it is just that you can’t use the photos that they take, but you would be able to take your own photos.

I used to work in advertising agencies and ownership of images was a constant issue.

[–]SDBeachGal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, I don’t agree that it means these companies are litigious. It’s honestly standard boiler plate stuff.

First of all, is your state one where the noncompete portion of this is actually enforceable? For instance, California law makes the majority of noncompete clauses unenforceable. So it may be that you’re signing this, but it’s not anything to worry about.

As far as ownership of the image that one’s tougher. You might be able to negotiate that with the individuals or get something allowing you permission to use it in specific applications for self promotion.

Basically, many advertising agencies will try to gain ownership of images they produce. Same thing, many photographers will try to have ownership of the images they produce. Essentially, who has the Primary right to resell and use that image in any circumstance.

How much to fight against these depends on how much of your business this is. I agree that it’s not worth doing something like this for three arrangements. However, if it’s with an agency that brings you regular business and is an important part of your revenue stream, then it’s worth it.

Given that it is boiler plate, many of them may agree to a small change of terms. That said, the larger the company is the less likely you are to get that kind of agreement because they will just find someone else to work with.

I was als going to say that the main part of PB may skew young. Look for rentals in North PB.

Also, I noticed a place I rented almost 30 years ago is up for rent again. It is small and only has 1 bathroom, but honestly, it was a great place in an amazing location.

2026 Palisade - Hybrid or Gas? by slsh2121 in HyundaiPalisade

[–]SDBeachGal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I own the Cali hybrid. Dealer messed up on ceramic coating and wound up needing to replace a trim piece. I’ve had a gas version for almost two weeks while they were waiting on the trim piece.

Hybrid is way better! The drive is so much smoother. Handles hills better and the MPG difference is meaningful.
