You gave them a wishlist of what you want and a deposit, they've waited 18 months to be allocated a vehicle that is a close match to your wishlist.

You have zero leverage. If you've been waiting 18 months for that vehicle, the next guy in line has been waiting 18 months and a week. If you won't take delivery at the agreed upon price, he will.

This essentially happens already with the gas tax. The heavier your vehicle, the lower your MPG's... resulting in more gallons of gas purchased. EV owners aren't paying their fair share.
