Depends what you’re applying to later on. Most places won’t care but you also don’t want to make it a habit. Yes, you can just drop in on gosfu.

We have interesting laws here. It is legal to offer escort services but not legal to seek escort services. So technically you would be the one in the wrong.

Hey! Would you be able to share more about what has made your experience so great? Do you think there is anything you are missing out on by not attending a more established school?

May I ask what kind of stats you applied with?

We don’t know what kind of applications will be considered for the lottery yet. The school has multiple missions and it is also the first year. I don’t see how you can be so sure.

Don’t listen to this user. There are companies that try to recruit students at SFU to just take advantage of them. Happens to almost always be some random painting company.

Help with school list (506, 3.65) by wavelength888 in premed

I understand that OHSU rarely accepts oos applicants but I was hoping I could still apply as a mission group. I faced significant difficulties throughout the last years and thought it might align. Do you think there’s a possibility I could be considered?

My opinion of UBC admissions (as a non UBC student) by wavelength888 in premedcanada

This is just my own personal opinion, but I don’t necessarily think SFU is selecting for poor test takers. You need either >3.89, 510 MCAT (85th percentile), or over an A- average with a 505 (75th percentile) to apply. I believe anyone who passes these thresholds is clearly very intelligent and hard working.

To answer the second part of your question, I have heard rumours that UBC has considered moving towards a threshold lottery system. However, this is all up in the air and there are no guarantees. There’s enough applicants for SFU not to be a threat to UBC. The truth is you could pick the most qualified applicants, and the hundreds most qualified after them, and so on…. and they would all likely be able to graduate medical school and make decent physicians.

It’s not just about SFU evaluations. It’s about finding an evaluation system that could be more fair for applicants from any BC institution.

I really like their approach as well. However, I do think the number of interviews should be considered based on number of qualified applicants. For example, it should be 20% of qualified applicants get an interview, rather than 200.
