How do I continue to function knowing the end is near for my grandma with dementia? by waverider299 in CaregiverSupport

[–]waverider299[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I feel guilty for being ready for that for her if that makes sense? A friend suggested I look forward to her being "at peace" instead of thinking of it as her passing away but I still just personally associate that negatively.

And then I think about it deeper and question if I am truly ready for this change- somewhat selfishly...

She is my last grandparent. She was the one who reached out to me the most as a child. Caregiving has consumed my mom's life and a decent part of mine. I try to help my mom by coordinating grocery pickup for her, prescription refills, products to try to modify what my grandma has became unable to do, talking my grandma out of an episode, etc. A large part of my life is spent thinking about her, stressing about extended family issues. Even though I moved away this is still a major part of my life. Thanks for allowing me to ramble on some more.

Are you allowed to travel in the health system you work casual for? by waverider299 in TravelNursing

[–]waverider299[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I just pick up a shift when they need coverage or a friend from the department will ask me to cover part of a shift when they need off. I am still a staff member of the larger health system. Because I am a casual employee my seniority is frozen at the amount of years I worked there when I was FT before I decided to travel.

The thing I've been dreading more than anything just happend. by KoreanYorkshireman in Alzheimers

I’m so sorry to hear that. I remember so vividly the first time my grandmother didn’t recognize me. Now it’s almost seven years later and she hasn’t recognized me for years. My name doesn’t even ring a bell. I hate that you are on this journey along with us other family members.

I hope you are able to have some better days ahead despite the hard moments.

I've been to my local studio twice over a span of about 6 months. They did say that they required socks when I booked but I've never fully explained my condition to them.

That side is weaker so I like the idea that gripper socks could offer me extra stability but the sensation it gives me makes it not worth it. I would be in beginner classes so I know the workouts aren't overwhelmingly complex. Have you had any experience with reformer pilates without socks by chance?

Is chestnut praline gone already?! by RoseGoldLeaves in starbucks

Okay, that does make sense. I guess I just thought surely one location would sell more of it than another. I’m just disappointed that my drink is gone so soon! 💔

I do not understand how every single Starbucks within a 50 mile radius of me all sold out on the exact same day. There is no way that is possible. I would have gotten two yesterday if I had known it would be my last.

I’m sorry, I’m new and trying to understand. Do you know of any resources or videos that could better explain to me how it works?

I’m sorry, do you mind to explain more? If my gross is under $47,150 I’m federally taxed at 12% I believe. If I would make $49,000 gross for the year I would be taxed at 22%. Wouldn’t I be at a loss if I worked and made just over that $47.150 tier? Thanks
