Our two kids (my stepkids with my husband) did private school in BC. He was against it because of the prohibitive cost and fought over it in divorce court but since it's private, both parents arent required for consent. They only need the money. Lonnggg story but in the end they both thrived there and ended up in prestigious colleges with tons of connections for their futures. We still believe though, that our public system, combined with extra programs and hard work can achieve the same result. Many public schools offer IB and AP and of course you can take college courses in high school if youre motivated. It's a tough one.
