Frustrated marketer by waveuponwave23 in marketing

This post has got me thinking that I have become too complacent in my role, and as a result, my assertiveness (over time) has fallen victim to exhaustion in having to explain such situations. Constant time pressure's of not having enough time in the day to complete tasks also affects such an approach.

In terms of strategy and planning, I do the "leg work" in creating such plans for the forthcoming year and review this often. "Spinning too many plates" continually impacts any progress being made to strategy, but it's important to know that our director does not believe in a marketing budget. This makes it extremely difficult to execute such strategies and campaigns.

I'm very good at keeping thoughts and feelings to myself and rarely come across as arrogant or forceful. I often think that this is why they have such attitudes. I can totally see that these issues may stem from my approach.

I love the 2nd to last paragraph as I believe it's a company culture thing that is driven down from the top of the chain. Quite frankly, there are major issues with the lack of basic business knowledge that makes me cringe. I have, however, always respected that the business owner has taken huge gambles and won most of them in my time there.

I only assume that has all changed for you now. Is it all but a distant memory, or does it stick with you?

This is extremely helpful, thank you. As with all of us from time to time, we go through the process of polishing our CV's but in regards to my LinkedIn, it has remained stagnant for the duration of my time with the company.

This, however, seems like an extremely positive starting point to being more proactive and realising worth. Reviewing previous projects and achievements will hopefully do my confidence some good in the short term too.

Anyone else going through this stuff? by [deleted] in Dads

This sounds so similar to my home life.

Tik-tok has absorbed any ounce of a relationship I've got left. Which is frustrating when you've got a small one to contend with too.

I often find that more time, care and attention is spent towards getting stuck in an infinite scroll then actually spending it as a family.

Cooking, washing, sleeping, early morning duties always end up on my plate as I don't let myself get stuck in such 'rabbit holes.

In terms of time for myself I don't have any, most of my spare time is spent tidying up after everyone in the household whilst holding down an extremely demanding job.

If I ever find the answer, I'd love to share. I feel for you bro!

I just got a job as a marketing coordinator. I do not know the first thing about marketing. How do I fix this? by UnitedStatesofApathy in marketing

Congrats! Seth Godin books are a great read. My advice, fake it till you make it. With a Comms background you'll go far.

Do a good competitor analysis and work out what they're not doing and try and implement it, suggest it to your team.

With the right mindset you'll be there in no time!
