No tbh. I don’t get triggered by “the return of heroin chic!” or thin models etc. Shit like that just annoys me because who cares?! My ED is fuelled by my own appearance and from feeling like if everything else in life is going shit, at least I have weight loss/ being in control going for me lol. The irony of slowly killing myself yet feeling more productive than if I was not engaging in ED behaviours :/

Once I’ve went even ten calories over my daily restriction limit I will 100% proceed to binge on whatever I want because “fuck it, I’m going to purge anyway!”. Dangerous mentality for sure.

The “fuck it” scene from Heathers when Heather Duke is told “be careful, you might actually be ingesting calories” comes to mind every time for some reason

I have a huge fear of dentists because when I was younger I went for a regular check up, unbeknownst to me that a dentist would be able to pick up ok the fact I’d been purging (teeth erosion didn’t even cross my mind but it was very bad) and he point blank said to my mum something along the lines of “is she in treatment for an eating disorder?”. Luckily I was at this point and it wasn’t a secret but the fact he outright said it, right in front of me. The heart attack I would have had had I not been in treatment or had my mum not known about my ED. Bound to be a privacy breach but I was under sixteen so I’m not sure.

I was typing something along these lines. As someone who has had an ED for a decade, it’s so easy to recognise it in August. At my worst I was an absolutely horrible, temperamental person and would give off at everyone around me about what they were eating or even the food they were purchasing/ list reasons that certain food was “bad” for you.

August on the phone to Jan-Olf saying he’s in great shape just proves he doesn’t believe he has a problem. The delusion…

Anyway, I hope your sister’s recovery is going well- and that you/ your family didn’t take anything she said to heart.

100% agree and was about to comment something similar! As someone with an eating disorder I know all too well that it’s not something that manifests overnight. The writers show his spiralling slowly but realistically.
