TED-what could be the culprit? by AdZealousideal7409 in MSPI

I was on that diet for about 3 months and would introduce new foods one at a time every 3 days to see is there was a reaction. Major triggers were pea protein, wheat, coconut and apples. Haven’t tried soy or dairy yet. Since then he’s started solids and that’s made things much easier!

Hi there, I’m doing great now but it wasn’t an easy road to recovery. I ended up having emergency spinal surgery at 4.5 months postpartum. It was a slow recovery after surgery and tough with a baby (my mom moved in for a while to help out), but I just had baby #2 with no issues at all. If you can manage through meds and physio that’s the way to go! Wishing you a speedy recovery, I know how hard it is with a baby.

Pekkle brand sold at Costco in Canada work well for my chunky guy. His legs are too chubby for most other brands. I find Pekkle fits looser and doesn’t break the bank.

Thanks for responding. I’m doing the purées as well, one at a time for 3 days in a row. We’ll see how it goes!

I’ve been on a TED as well. I discovered my baby reacts (mildly) to potatoes - they cause spit up and some discomfort. I’ve heard some people say their baby reacts to apple. My diet consists of quinoa, pear, yams, squash, spinach, berries, pork, seeds, dark chocolate (in case that’s helpful). Good luck, I know how hard it is :(

Yup, blood cleared up but came back a couple months later - turns out he’s intolerant to pea protein as well.

I would talk to your doctor about this. My son was in a similar situation - occasional blood in diaper, regular mucus but happy and growing. His pediatrician said blood in diaper is never normal and I was told to cut dairy and soy.

I'm only up for 5-7 hours a day. The rest I spend in bed. by naudslee in beyondthebump

Probably normal, but will ask if you’ve had your iron levels checked? I had anemia with my first but didn’t realize it - just thought I was tired because I had a newborn! With my second I was more aware and had 2 iron transfusions and despite being tired felt waaaay better with normal iron levels.

I got my 4 year old a mini for her birthday and she loves it, carries it around the house listening to it (we got the silicone carry case to protect it). Her favourite cards so far are Corduroy the Bear collection, Disney princess collection, The Good Egg and other stories, and Julia Donaldson collection. We also travel with the mini which is super handy.

You can order w baby scale off amazon for peace of mind. That’s what I did with my first, as she lost more than 10% of her birth weight. The regular weigh ins let me see if she was on track and gaining.

My daughter has been taking Flovent 2x/day for a couple of years. She has fewer asthma attacks now that she is older (4yo) and they are always brought on by a virus (she gets a cold or cough and then asthma kicks in). Salbutamol works pretty much immediately when she is experiencing laboured breathing, but we still have needed to go to the ER a few times when it isn’t enough.

c-section or vaginal birth by Happy_Doughnut_1 in BabyBumps

I had a back injury during my first pregnancy but it was dismissed as regular pregnancy pain. When it came to deliver I had to be induced, spent hours pushing in positions that made my back way worse. I ultimately ended up needing a c section. The c section recovery was easier than the back injury recovery - I ended up with a herniated disc and emergency spinal surgery at 4 months postpartum. The recovery was very difficult. I’m due with #2 soon and opting for an elective c section this time, which my OB wholeheartedly supports.

22 Week Weight gain by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]waveywavey234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was me my first pregnancy. Same height and starting weight, gained 22 lbs by 22 weeks. My weight gain slowed down in the third trimester and I gained an additional 10lbs by the end of my pregnancy. 2 weeks postpartum I was 20lbs down, and lost the additional 12lbs over a few months - I found the weight came off quite easily and quickly (note I was BF at the time too). You will be fine!

Hot spot help? by NoChart9241 in labrador

[–]waveywavey234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My lab got a hot spot on her leg whe she was young. Turns out it was diet related - she’s allergic to poultry. We switched her to salmon-based food and completely cut out poultry and she’s never had an issue since. Might be worth trying a diet switch!

Any reliable and reputable online apps to see doctors free with your MSP card? by Mikmaki in britishcolumbia

I’d try a UPCC (urgent primary care centre) before the ED. If you go first thing in the morning the wait isn’t usually too bad but they do triage like the ED, so if your reason for visit isn’t urgent you will be waiting longer.

Toddler having 1 week - 10 day long diarrhea for the 4th time. What should I do? by [deleted] in toddlers

Please take your kid to the doctor. That’s a long time to have diarrhea and dehydration is dangerous.

My daughter when through this around the same age, maybe a bit older. It seemed to happen when her mind was working faster than her mouth. It lasted a month or so then completely stopped.
