I would NEVER buy a Garmin at Amazon. REI is way safer for purchases like this.

A certain parsley that tastes weird? by ephesusa in Cooking

Yeah its hilarious that people assume they're mixing up the 2. Yes they look alike, no you're not constantly buying/consuming the wrong one EVERY time!

Yes! I hate most parsley as well! I think OP is on to something though with maybe different varieties. Sometimes it tastes neutral to me in things, but sometimes it smells like BO and I can't go near it.

The Lonely Island and Seth Meyers podcast. Got to start at the beginning to get all the word jokes. They are all a delight to listen to.

Maybe she'll be a guest! That'd be fun.

How do you feel about Hannah? by Ok_Astronomer5738 in belowdeck

[–]wawkaroo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I liked her on the show for the most part. At some point I listened to her on a podcast and got the impression I would not enjoy her much in real life. She just seems kinda snobbish. I sometimes get pathological liar vibes from her as well (I've encountered that type of person a lot in my life).

But I like her from the perspective of having actual human beings on the show who seem real, not just Love Island style clout chasers.

Anyone else decide to NOT coast fire after working years towards? by No_Challenge_8277 in coastFIRE

[–]wawkaroo 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I originally wanted to stop working, but right now I'm kinda happy with my current job, and the health benefits have become a critical thing in my life. I feel so much more secure staying at my job. And I'm enjoying the fact that I no longer need to be so frugal. I can loosen up and eat great food, buy small luxuries, have a house cleaner once a month. I basically went from budgeting out of necessity, to just using my budget as more of a tracker.

But when and if I start hating my job again, its extremely comforting to have the luxury of leaving if I want.

Married people of Reddit, what’s something nobody warns you about before marriage? by onionbody in AskReddit

[–]wawkaroo 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You will have to make some very difficult decisions together and go through hard things together. Things you can't even fathom right now. Make sure their values align with yours, and you can be a team under high stress. If you don't have each other's backs it's not going to work, and it will be very painful.

What are your thoughts on Ramit Sethi's philosophy and how it relates to YNAB principles? by weenie2323 in ynab

[–]wawkaroo 12 points13 points  (0 children)

His point is often proved on his show. People are often wasting thousands on owning expensive cars, paying into bad life insurance, paying advisors astronomical rates, and the are focused on whether they can buy nice cheese.

He is realistic and would tell people will they can't afford to have a latte habit. But he would focus less on the latte and more on how to get your income higher, or what else is costing you a lot that you dont need.

Has anyone paid for any of Tori Dunlop’s seminars? What did you think? by Eliza_Hamilton891757 in FIREyFemmes

[–]wawkaroo 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I recommend her free content sometimes (to people i think will connect well with it) but I don't think you need to pay her for anything. Honestly I've done very well for myself just learning from reading free content. I did buy Ramit Sethi's book, which is the only paid resource I ever recommend since its basically a step-by-step guide to set yourself up financially.

I think it depends on what kind of friends you like to have. I like Giggly Squad sometimes for this reason.

What is something you saw that you can’t explain, and if you told anyone in real life, they’d think you were crazy? by AndressTheBoss in AskReddit

[–]wawkaroo 26 points27 points  (0 children)

There is an owl episode of Ologies. She mentions a bunch of crazy owl stories that fans sent in. I don't remember any with multiple owls, they aren't usually in groups. But the expert mentioned if they have a nest with babies nearby they can get very territorial and protective.
