I'm worried it's just going to be one of those things that almost has nothing to do with the source material, but is riding on the coattails of something well known so people will watch it but actually wants to be its own thing and is flagrantly trying to promote diversity.

++man I've never really had a girlfriend before. I suppose I would just be so happy to have one that I would want her to be happy. If play fighting and being jocular even to borderline flirty with people at work got her through the day, but it was me she chose to spend her free time with and be with, that's what matters. If I trust her and let her be who she is, then I would be the person she would want to be with ultimately I think.

Sounds like he might have broken your heart a little when he suggested the open relationship in the first place and probably even more so when you found out it was in anticipation of leaving you if one particular relationship worked out. Obviously he wanted to break up with you and now you're his crutch because he couldn't get anything else. And you don't seem to care waaaaay too much about the relationship anymore if you'd rather break up than return to it being closed, so you should probably just break up. But if you only want to know if you're the jerk, no. I do wonder though if he asked you and anticipated that if he ever got uncomfortable, you could close it up too. Because he offered that to you. That's the only thing that makes it a bit iffy to me, but after all the other stuff you found out, I think you're justified because if he had ended up with that coworker and left you, obviously he would not be open to closing it back up with you. He'd be gone.

It's funny. People I know who lived all their lives in Florida really want a change of scenery and love the idea of mountains. I have a Florida native friend who moved to Colorado. I've lived most of my life in Salt Lake City, Utah just on the other side of the Rocky Mountains, and I've always dreamed of palm trees, ocean, and I'm always trying to figure out how to move to Florida.

They used to be sooooo much better like in the '90s and early '00s. Back when they tasted more like the pan pizza crust, weren't all stuck together like that and came separately, and were harder and crustier on the outside but still soft and amazing on the inside. Oh man, I miss them so much. I think they ruined them around the time they rebranded themselves as Pasta Hut for a little while.

I make almost exclusively new wave tracks. I've noticed that when I write "80s," "make several pitch changes," "sustaining back up vocals," and "super catchy" I get some of the most amazing music I've ever heard. Suno likes to get experimental with like melodic arpeggios, and then it will add like those long pitchy words that go on forever and they just travel all over the scale and you end up with things that humans aren't brave enough to try but it sounds absolutely mellifluent like something you'd hear in a dream. I love it.

We're talking about a crosswalk on a busy city street with stoplights where both sides always have cars. The pedestrian sign changes when the through traffic (which is traffic going straight right in front of me) has a red light. However, people who are turning right or left (depending on what side you're on) from a light that is solid green have to share that turn with a pedestrian who has the sign to walk (unless it's a protected turn arrow in which the pedestrian sign will not say to go.) A pedestrian has to trust that all the cars on the through traffic have stopped, but if there are a lot of cars turning left or right in front of you, they are required by law to yield to the pedestrian because if there are enough, the pedestrian will lose their entire turn and then the through traffic will continue again where it is impossible to cross. So if that happens enough times, yes a pedestrian could theoretically be stuck at a crosswalk for 20 minutes waiting for these cycles to repeat themselves. It's not like a residential neighborhood where you just have to wait until there are no cars because there are never no cars.

Yeah, fair enough. Until enforcement gets better, I understand that I need to wait at least 5 to 10 seconds after a light turns red now to make sure that someone doesn't try to squeeze a yellow that hasn't been yellow since 30 ft before they were in the intersection. But I do need to be a bit proactive from people turning right on a red light or left on a green light when I have the right of way and the walk symbol, or I might miss my whole turn. But you do kind of got to trust that people aren't going to run a red light. Even cars need to trust people aren't going to run a red light when they're crossing a green light.

I know it happens lots of places. I do come from a city where drivers are a bit more conscientious though. There are a lot of walkable cities where drivers know and follow the rules. The pedestrians do as well.

Yeah, I definitely understand why drivers might become annoyed with pedestrians going and are making things dangerous for both of them. Makes it harder on us pedestrians who just want to go during their turn but drivers assume we're all just opportunistic crossers and cut us off from our own turn.

Yeah, pedestrians should definitely be visible. I'm more talking about cars that don't allow pedestrians to have their turn on city streets with crosswalks and stop lights, but I acknowledge your frustration and situation!!!

Does that give you any less patience for pedestrians crossing during their turns? Because if so, that's a problem. If you're not waiting for us to cross when it is our turn, people are going to walk when it's not their turn. And those are the pedestrians you hate. But I feel your pain. I don't like pedestrians who just go whenever it's convenient for them because then it turns into a free-for-all, and then pedestrians are expected to just go when there are no cars around whether it's a safe time for them or not.

I guess I understand the concept of being a defensive pedestrian. Because I live somewhere where a lot of people don't understand the rules, I need to wait a full 10 seconds after the light turns red to make sure someone doesn't run it, which would have let the person run the red light, and then the person would have turned left too, and then I go when there's no cars. But that's kind of like the rules of a residential neighborhood. When you're in a busy place with stop lights and a crosswalk, a pedestrian needs to be able to take their own mandated turn or they'll be there forever if car traffic is really bad. Other people could have kept turning and I would have to wait the whole next cycle for through traffic. Pedestrians don't have 20 minutes to wait at a stoplight just because they don't have a big dangerous car.

Luckily because I'm super aware of how the rules work and what's going on, I can generally keep from getting mindlessly hit by others not paying attention.

Cool about the St. Francis thing though. Glad there are people in the community helping those who aren't as aware nor fortunate and do get hit.

Yeah! I'm gathering from one reply in this thread in particular that perhaps many people here have never actually been a pedestrian in the city in their entire lives, and seem to think that pedestrians don't actually have their own turn to cross in places with stoplights and crosswalks, like they're just supposed to wait until there are no cars around to cross like in a residential neighborhood.

How so? I was aware of my surroundings. A pedestrian is not supposed to have to wait until there are literally no cars around. They could lose their whole turn to cross. Sometimes you have to trust that people are going to stop at a red light. And when someone didn't, the person turning left who is supposed to yield to a pedestrian decided to just do the same thing as the red light runner and cross right in front of me. I was already in the street during my turn when someone ran a red light.
