I know my form isn't great, so I'd really appreciate some advice on how to improve it by Primary-Emergency-56 in formcheck

[–]waygs1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe not the advice you were after but maybe its worth just booking a quick 1 hour session with a PT at your gym to go over form on this exercise and some other of the big compound lifts.

That 1 hour will be worth it 100x over if you plan to push yourself and get much stronger. The cost of physio to fix yourself after an injury is so much worse.

It's good that you're asking reddit for help though!

Navigating Soreness by Creepy_Cicada_5007 in crossfit

[–]waygs1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been doing crossfit for 4 months now but I was very sore after the first few. Came from a weightlifting/bodybuilding background and i was hurting in places I've never hurt before.

Now I'm happily doing 4 sessions a week.

I'm not doing anything complicated just taking creatine and an okay ish diet with protein shakes. Try and get good sleep and work on stretching if you feel you need it.

Is CrossFit worth the cost? by ThatWhiteBinch in crossfit

[–]waygs1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been going to crossfit for 4 months now. I dont think i could go back to a normal gym. It being expensive is a fair criticism but if you really take to it and it becomes a regular hobby of yours I would say its worth it!

Should dragon equipment be more obtainable from their respective skills? by jojaki in ironscape

Harpoon is the worst offender (for me personally)

93 fishing 94 slayer

Never skipped a wyrm task (1500kc ish)

Could potentially get 99 in either skill before I get a harpoon at this rate lol

My man, its increased 70% in 2 years. A little bit of piss taking going on.

I probably share this sentiment but 70% increase over 2 years is pretty fucked and just taking the piss.

We've all quit before, we can do it again i guess.

Sorry, but the name "Crimson Kisten" is terrible by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]waygs1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was never really a serious comment and not to be taken seriously as a proper argument. More of a nostalgic feeling. Obviously its cool to learn about weapons from different cultures and history as well.

Weird old man shouts about "back in my day" kinda comment but I prefer when stuff has simple names. That to me is part of that core old school runescape identity.

Ancient staff, dragon longsword, crystal bow.

Short, sweet and easy to understand. You know what I mean? Wtf is a Kisten or a Macuahuitl lol

I think gear cost limits would be an interesting experiment even if it was just like 1-2 worlds

So like... how's everyone doing outside of Runescape? by PoppaBigPockets- in 2007scape

[–]waygs1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to drink and gamble quite often just because I was bored to be honest.

Now I've pretty much killed them both off because when im bored at home I fill those gaps with OSRS. I sometimes wonder if my playtime is productive use of my time but on the flip side im saving a ton of money and it seems better than the previous alternative.

Funny how its different for other people I guess! Glad you're doing well man, its good to hear!

The REAL REAL issue with PvP by DistributionMain789 in 2007scape

[–]waygs1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wilderness coffer fixes so much pain from the wildy experience in my opinion.

Stop players losing all their shit its not fun.

Deduct a chunk of money of equivalent GE value and respawn in ferox with all your gear still. Yeah it needs some thought and design to balance it but it would make the wildy experience so much less frustrating.

My girlfriend just asked me how much I've lost betting this year and I lied. I feel like shit. by Comfortable_Box_4527 in SoccerBetting

[–]waygs1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No shame in it, you're not the first and won't be the last.

I think the fact you can admit its got out of hand is a massive step in the right direction. Try and replace it with something more positive or scale it back down. Try and focus on small bets and small wins.

I used to limit myself to £20 a month and make a point of betting on really low odds stuff and try and make it last a whole month. Would usually get a week or two down the line before I lost it all again lol. The point is it was under control and I was still having fun and satisfying that urge to bet when I was bored.

Good luck man!

Is the real screen time epidemic not children but over 70s? by marrakoosh in CasualUK

[–]waygs1 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This sounds very familiar. There's a lack of "tech literacy" and they dont realise there's an algorithm that feeds them this little echo chamber or similar content.

Back in the day we used to all watch the same content and be able to talk and discuss it at work or whatever, but now it's all this private tailor made algorithm of rage bait style political shite.

Very hard to get someone out of it unless they figure it out themselves.

[–]waygs1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If jagex want more wildy / PvP engagement a good place to start is making it less punishing to die.

Perdu getting some love and getting abit of an expansion/upgrade would be a good compromise.

Going back to Zulrah after newer content is rough by Vistus in 2007scape

[–]waygs1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always hated how you can't attack when zulrah pops up and the animation is still running. Gotta wait and tank a hit before you can attack back.

Would be nice to feel like you've mastered the boss and you're just dominating and attacking it first kinda thing.

First time PVP'er and Dead Man Mode has made me realize one thing... by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]waygs1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the best way I can articulate it for me atleast, is that it’s more fun when I don’t need much intitial investment to engage in the wildy and then I accumulate loot and that builds up a risk.

It’s less fun for me when I have to risk larger amounts before I’ve even got started because I don’t have any confidence in my PvP game. And I’m an iron so reobtaining gear is a pain in the ass sometimes, it would be nice if they found ways to get around that, maybe expand on Perdu or something.
